Don't think that anyone has suggested that Monk is more capable than Laudrup. The debate was principally about the 47pts that Roof was "claiming".
Its call on pace , said it every time taff . Norway is just explaining reasoning ...... good luck norway !
Im not a garry monk fan im a Swans fan! There, that was easy.. Whoever is in the dugout gets my support, has monk done enough to get the job full time? i would say no myself but each to their own, i think the board will see it as a gamble too far myself.
I am not a Monk fan as you will have figured however will always support the team however if Monk gets the full time job Premiership here we come
Whether it was right to sack. Laudrup or not, he has gone and no point debating it! We are where we are, and we need to focus on now. Monk in my view could be good in future perhaps too early for him. He does have a good motivational skill but not sure if he is bright enough to do the job, tactics are not good so he would need someone who could help or be number two to someone who is good and learn for the future. I do not think he will be manager next year. Even if Laudrup was here we would be sailing close to the wind. In terms of luck, we have faced some very inconsistent refereeing decisions and I thought at one time it was an anti-Welsh thing, however, I think it is bias towards the perceived bigger club that has caused the issue. It is more than just luck or bad luck. Apart from yesterday I don't think they balance out over the season either!
Impartiality has no remit in the eyes of partisan supporters of football Clubs, where the one eye'd reigns supreme. Hence,NO fan is going to feel that his/her team gets a fair crack of the whip - ever! They will always believe that there is a sinister plot being hatched, and carried out, by those in charge,to the detriment of their heroes. But it was ever thus. Nothing changes. Some,(big)Clubs are perceived to get preferential treatment, and perception is everything to the biased eye. So,is it true? How do you prove it? Answers on a postcard to ... What do I think? Well, there is possibly an element of truth in it, as has been evidenced for many years with the Fergie factor seemingly benefiting Man.Utd. week in week out,or so their opponent's would exhort us to believe. However, there is no way of proving it. Unless, and until, officials' become conscience stricken, come clean and admit that they have,in fact, been favouring the few, nothing will change,perception-wise,anyway. So,the situation will continue as is,and the spectator will be expected to accept that officials are only human, and occasionally err. That's not an unreasonable thing to expect, but since when were football fans' EVER reasonable, especially when they perceive that an injustice has been meted out to THEIR team.
Musty (and Roof) live in the Empire and are frequently confused about where we are and where we might end up. It can take months or years for news to reach them. The last bit of Swans news to reach Australia is that we're playing Reading in the play-off final LOL.
A couple of things happened in our favor yesterday. First the ref got clobbered in the first minute or so. Tough for him, but it resulted in a younger replacement coming on the field. Immediately the new ref starting to give little fouls in our favor. But, the most important impact was that at the end of the match the ref was able to get up field and be on the edge of the box shortly after the tackle on Emnes was made and immediately gave the penalty. The original / older ref would never have been able to make that run and be in that position and we probably would not have got the penalty as he would have been half a field behind the play. Much has been made of our bad luck with refs .... and we've had more than our fair share of a bad calls - have we ever . But yesterday, what goes around came around in our favor. And yesterday, Mourinho got a bad call against Sunderland ... so this would speak against the big clubs getting all the breaks.
Definite pen for Sunderland as Altidore was caught by a trailing leg. Mourinho did his usual hatchet job on the ref afterwards and I'm rapidly going off him. Not even shaking Monk's hand after last week's game speaks volumes. I really hope Liverpool win the title.
In the last minutes of the match, I doubt very much that the original / older ref would have made the run up the field to be in position to see the foul and give the penalty. The older ref would never have been in the right place. Kudos to the replacement; he ran a good way at a clip for a ref to be up with the play.
figured as much Just looked at the situation again. Ref ran from less than 30 yards out from our goal to 2 yards outside their box when the foul was made. Terrific effort on the part of the ref.
Watching Everton and Utd , Clattenberg was as close as it was possible to all major incidents which had to give a better chance of getting the decisions right rather than guessing or going by the crowds reaction .The players are fitter but the ref's are getting older and slower (in the most part ),
They didnt cheat against us though, chico deserved to be sent off plain and simple . Why he feelt the need to foul somebody 70 yrds away from goal then minutes later leave his leg out for the chelsea player to fall over instead of tracking him only chico knows! If Ash had got involved like JT and helped influence the ref we'd all be saying what a great job he did. Chico got himself sent off, though i agree we have been on the end of some horrific decisions this season, stoke and west ham at home ,where we could well have been in a very healthy position and still with the same manager, but thats the way it goes ,lucky it looks like not costing us too much, safety permitting
