It's taking him 3 years because

    1. He joined the club at 17 years old, at that age you cannot be consistent in the premier league, unless your something sensational.

    2. He's never been given a run of games (until now). How can you expect him to provide any kind of consistancy with the odd sub appearance or very rare start??

You say he's lucky to be given a chance? It's criminal it's taken until now for him to get a chance. Especially when the likes of altidore and graham have been long stretches of games.

Poyet has turned to wickham when he exhausted all over avenues, and should have gave him this chance a long time ago.

I agree with your lass ........ Torres is way out of his depth, in the Prem, and should take a few lessons from Wickham.
£50 million, what a waste of money, they could've got Wickham for a quarter of that <laugh>

Just on Whiks value, he was expensive, he was not a good buy as far as the needs of the club were concerned, we could have spent the money more wisely. But he has huge potential and could be a good long term investment but he is out of contract in a years time so it looks unlikely we will recoup our money unless we are prepared to pour more in. If he can continue to be our talisman and we stay up he will have done his job for SAFC.

I would like to think the club have enough sense to tie him up on a longer contract as otherwise he goes for free. He also is now in a strong bargaining position. Who ever is in charge of contracts at the club should be removed as they are not doing their job.

Yep, he'll be key next season for us, need to make sure that next season isn't his last though. Because we certainly haven't got our moneys worth yet

Yeah 4 goals in 3 seasons def not enough, I'm happy with the improving performances though, glad he's getting a genuine spell in the side.

Wanted the lad to be given a chance for a long long time. Really annoyed that we wasted almost a season of games on Jozy and DG.
I am not saying he is the finished article. Nor am I saying he will make it but it's great to see the lad being given a chance and taking it at the minute.
If we get relegated he would be a 20 goal a season man down there. He's still only 21 so has got time on his side to prove he's a premiership player.

Spot on, what a bunch of incompetents we have had these past few seasons, absolute jokers.
