    I originally picked our best two players and name myself after them with a twist: Gerros or Torrard

    We sold Torres so I chose to go with his replacements, Suarez, Gerrard and Carroll. I became Gerrez, Suarol or Carrard

    Since people only ever used the first bit, I shortened it <ok>

    It's a joke really. When I was learning to sail I hated working on the foredeck so the nicknamed me Foredeckdave. It's a double joke because particularly in racing circles the foredecker is a vital crew member and one who really has to excel in that position. So naturally with my nickname they just assumed that I was one of their crazies!

    The Dave bit is self-explanatory

    I was quite happy to let people thing the first part of my name related to large genetalia, but it's simply a school nickname of my forename. And though, being a teenager during the 70's, I hated being called Donny, the Darko thing is just after one of my favourite films.

    Crap name, really.
