    Should have had two pens.

I guess its karma for J-rods dive last year. I'm still flabbergasted that we have only taken one point from Villa this season they are shocking.

Positives - our crossing was better this week. We kept a clean sheet. We looked defensively solid. Morgan was more of an attacking threat.

No idea what could have contributed to those last three.

I'd love to go back and have a look through all our penalty appeals and whatnot this season, as despite the fact that I actively make an effort to try and remain fairly unbiased I can't help feeling that we have been almightily buggered this season.

Don't think it gives us much excuse today though, certainly unlucky but should have had the game won before that.

Ok I apologise misunderstood you meaning, sorry. In fact I have re-read it and am still not sure what your point actually was, never mind move on.

No worries. Wasn't necessarily all that clear.

Rodgers likely gets it for putting Liverpool in the title race, but Pulis getting 1.5 points per game at Palace since arriving is simply remarkable...hard not to think that's Manager of the Year stuff.

Shaw was MOTM today for me.

Clyne was also very good too.

Tbh, I was happy to settle for a draw with ten minutes to go. I really didn't want another loss and other results went for us.

Agree regarding Shaw, but not Clyne. I thought he was poor. Few deliveries into the box and none of note, and only once went past his guard. In comparison to Shaw, he was invisible.

Clyne was ok defensively but abysmal going forward. He didn't take on his full back until the last 10 mins.

Brave decision by the manager to take off JWP two thirds through the game and bring on Gallagher? A lot of managers would have brought on a defender and shut up shop?

Wanyama holds the ball in better. Like you said, he allows Morgan to be more of an attacking threat and in general for our team to play higher up the pitch. If you somehow haven't noticed I've been backing Wanyama since the season began. Cork is good as well, they're just good for different styles.

But the paradox of the team is that for all our pressing and possession and pretty short-passing, we seem to get our better chances on counters and long balls. Rodriguez's speed is still our best weapon on attack. He's gotten a lot better at doing things other than trying to get behind the defense, but that's still his main strength and that's fine. The problem is Lambert isn't quite what he used to be so when Rodriguez is negated/out, then we don't have a way of beating players behind the ball. If we did, then Wanyama would be much more effective.

He played a good game though. I really don't think the Cork/Wanyama thing as important as people make out. They're both good, we should be able to win with either player but we just have to alter our gameplan slightly. Problem is, we don't have the players to complement Wanyama's style as well. We heavily rely on speed.

Oh and it wasn't handball. His arm wasn't outstretched and there was no intention.

Mauricio really doesn't park the bus. If the points are there for the taking we're going for them.
