Hi, Ponders! Glad that Norway is wonderful, since I'm missing the Blackpool match to go there.

Always make the Sheffield trips (bar the cup) as many friends have moved up there. Despite their form, I still think we can go and get something. They will still be smarting from our celebrations in the cup though..

    @ Ted(s)

Lets not forget that Riga inherited a team with 24 league goals all season and one that had just been beaten in humiliating fashion by Sheff Utd in the Cup. My view is that we would not have won at Forest & Leeds without a new manager, & if the points from the two wins keeps us up, it will have been well worth it.

I find it incredible that people seem to be rushing over themselves to praise Church yesterday. How many of his shots tested their keeper? He is the worst finisher I have ever seen play for us.

I have suggested "positive" ideas before. I suggested Uwe Rosler when he was at Brentford.
Happy to defend my views to anyone on here, and I am driving up to Hillsborough on Monday to support Riga - a manager I still have faith in - & this bum side of ours.

I went to Sweden years back with Mrs Shabby, against the good advice of those who had been. Never again. And with the exception of Denmark, I would avoid on cost principles the rest of scandinavia too, unless on a cruise ship.
Now the dust has settled, we're a point better off than yesterday regarding Blackpool and Donny, but we need to wrap this up soonish, as I've no confidenc in a trip to Bloomfield Road needing to avoid defeat.
The odd thing for me is that as a Dartford fan, I'm now on two forums (forii ?) where everyone keeps saying they can't see where the next goal is coming from. As goals are the stuff of life in football, you can imagine the sort of season I'm having.

Norway is not too dear, Ken. The Viking museum in Oslo is just £6 to get in, and it's one of those places sure to send a shiver down the spine.

I did pay £14 for coffee and biscuits in Flam, though. :emoticon-0108-speec

How many of any of our shots tested the keeper? Bare in mind he's still our top scorer... shows just how bad the rest of the strikers are. He had a good game, better than Reza, better than Obika, and he was actually making trouble in and around the box, yeah... never EVER going to score, and we need that from a striker, but we looked far more likely to score when he was on rather than when we took him off

And I'm not saying we should have kept Powell either, it was time he had to go. Yet at the time you were suggesting Rosler we didn't have any money to get a decent striker, let alone pinch a decent manager from somewhere. All in all, yeah we move on and all that stuff.... apart from the sale of Yann, I won't move on from that.

They weren't his targets, the money wasn't there for the ones he wanted.

Yann jumped ship for an extra few bob, so he can do one in my opinion. I don't buy in to all the 'he's got a family to think about' and 'this could be his last deal' nonsense; the fact is he walked away from the club that resurrected his career, and he let down the fans who hero worshipped him. He broke my son's heart when he moved south, so I won't forgive him for that.

Fair enough Ponders... it almost got me kicked out the Library for loud abusive language when I saw he was sold too... not the best of days.

But as much as I understand that Yann jumped ship, it was Roland who allowed the transfer to be accepted, who then signed it off right at the end... if he hadn't done that we'd have a Yann, and he was never ever half hearted for us and is exactly the person we need in a situation like this

Church is so bad he's dangerous. When challenging for headers he doesn't look at the ball; he looks at the man. And he normally hurts them. Wheater got an elbow yesterday and didn't Gorks end up with a bandage against Reading?

I know everyone sees thing differently and that that is part of why Football is so lovely but I refuse to accept any positive words in favour of Church. He simply has no redeeming features.

He's biggest redeeming feature for me is simply he runs and runs and runs and runs. The pen appeal (What many are saying he should have got up and carried on) how many of our players would have closed down the keeper like that? Sordell doesn't run, and neither does Obika. Church puts in an effort despite a lack of ability... what is the polar opposite of Sordell and Obika thus I prefer Church and would rather have him in than Sodall and Obika, Church went off and it pretty much stopped all attacking threat we had.. and that's saying something.
