I was thinking about this the other day; if we go on to win the league, how much credit will go down to Henry and the others who bought the club? They've hired Rodgers and the other background staff and put up money for players (net of around 85mill over 6 transfer windows) and paid off our losses from the absurd wages given to players by the previous regime. Naturally, I'm grateful for them and think they're doing a great job as owners, but we're not even close to being on schedule by what they expected. We're miles head. Financially, we're not even close to what they believe we can become so there's still alot of room to improve there. The stadium is still to come. I would say our current performance level is more down to Rodgers than the owners (although of course they believed in him and appointed him) and that over the next few years is where the owners' long term plans will affect our team. That's not negative about the owners, I'm wondering if we will continue improving when the owners' plans come to fruition and this season is just down to finding a hidden gem of a manager instead.
I hope to god that they've got a new contract pretty much all lined up for Brendan to sign the day after the last game of the season. If we as a club are ahead of schedule then give the man a new contract ahead of when his current one expires.
