Those official press conferences do seem a waste of time these days. May as well scrap them for the crap questions that get asked.
Miracle driver in car 2 seconds faster than everyone elses wins magnificent pole by .5 seconds over RBR driver
See what I mean ASC, he asks both Ricciardo and Hamilton how their qualifying went yet asks a random question to Vettel lol... Q: Sebastian, is this Red Bull Racing coming back and getting on terms with Mercedes back at the front? Sebastian Vettel: Well, in wet conditions I think we have a bit more of a chance. In dry conditions they are still quite quick and a little bit too far away. But let’s see what happens tomorrow, I think the weather forecast is dry so for sure we’ll try. I think we are in the best positions to try to give them a very hard time tomorrow.
It's almost as if they don't want to ask him how his quali went, but want his opinion on everyone elses! Despite him having had car issues, I genuinely think Ricciardo is giving him a real run for his money. Seb does need to respond to this.
Maybe they don't want Vettel attacking them so they don't ask Edit: Speed traps show Mercedes are 20kph faster than Red Bull, yes 20... This car is just perfect in every category: downforce, balance, tyre deg, traction, drag, engine power, starts, reliability. At least with Neweys cars back in the day you could at least hold them on the straight if you got in front on the starts, or hoped for an engine or alternator failure. So there was always a weakness with this high aero concept of Newey designs, but this Mercedes is like a freak of nature!
Recorded qualifying... Had a lousy migraine last night so went to hide in a dark room. Worth watching?
It seems to be as good as an MP4/4, F2002 or RB7 were in terms of no one else looking close to getting near.
Decided to watch it... So far it's totally worth watching just for Will Buxton taking the pee out of Maldonado. The gift that keeps on giving. Edit: What an absolute mare for McLaren. Totally blame Whitmarsh.
Hamilton or Rosberg will win every race till the end of the season. 2 secs faster then any other car on the grid.
Couple of questions spring to mind after Q3. 1. Was Rosberg trying too hard to beat Hamilton rather than just driving? 2. Is Vettel being smart and anticipating a dry race tomorrow or is Ricciardo the real deal? 3. Will Kimi make it to the end of the season?
1: Starting to hear that Rosberg actually had braking problems all through qualifying and his delta was showing incorrectly at the point he was 6 tenths up on his last lap in Q3. 2: We will have to see, was more to do that Seb didn't actually put all his sectors together in Q3 like Daniel did for the gap in qualifying, ultimate lap shows they were close. 3: Not if his car keeps breaking down.
Not heard or read anything post Q3 regarding brake issues. Only just watched it. Was it an actual issue or not getting enough heat in them? As for Vettel... I have a sneaky feeling he's thinking ahead.
It's Vettel... He's always thinking ahead. And in the interviews he looked quite happy with his position.
