I say get him back. Especially if we don't get promoted this season. Spot on player for the championship. Also, with the injury crisis this year, a true utility player would have been priceless. Ffs.
Great point. The lung - bursting run to get onto that cross was superb. And made it back despite a serious leg break. The fact that he went back on London callin spirals volumes. Harry or Jamie? Mackie all day long. Go on Tone, bring him back to kick start the revolution. Its not like he is after 80k a week......
Rumour has it that Mackie was on the pitch for the 90mins today I saw him a few times in the first half and then he seemed to disappear What a waste of space
Your wish certainly came true Judo, but there was never any likelihood of it being any other way. Jamie got a brilliant send off at the end of the match. The whole ground stood and applauded him as he slowly made his way around all the stands and was finally the last man to leave the field with "There's only one Jamie Mackie" still ringing in his ears. Loftus Road at its finest. There was also an excellent tribute by Clive in the programme.
Would definitely take him back if we stayed in the championship. Great worker, but never a prem player.
One of the players we should never of sold. His ability was limited at times but never shirked or hid and always tried his hardest Dont think he was a Prem player but if we could have got some of his effort and professionalism to rub of to the other players, we'd be in a "better place" right now Im certainly a fan
The simple truth of the matter is that we should not disrespect the players who took us up last time. Most may not have possessed great technical skills but they had heart and spirit. The same goes for Warnock. His mistake was to decide for some of them that they did not even deserve a chance and replace them with expensive reputations which in the vast majority of cases had been earned on the back of the labours of others. A team does not become crap just because it does not live up to the delusional aspirations of its owners and some of its fans. Mackie will always be applauded by me.
Almost everyone had a chance in the premiership because Warnock was not given any money to spend. It resulted in us struggling in the league and getting beat 6-0 by the likes of Foolham. We had to bring in new players but replacing Warnock with Hughes was the first big mistake.
This "I agree he is an average player but has a heart, engine and passion that make him a good player, the right sort, that all teams need however they are".
He was my favourite player but after Brickygate I went right off him. Wasn't overly sad to see him go in the end.
Brickygate? Lol that's a classic turn of phrase. I was right though. Despite a bit of derision at the time from certain posters.
