If anyone is capable of convincing the likes of Shaw and Lallana to stay on board (that is if they need convincing), it's not the manager or the owner as much as it's Rickie ****ing Lambert.
You have to respect the fact that Rickie is comfortable enough at this stage that he's openly campaigning for the team to sign a striker to take playing time away from him.
He is such an honest guy. Speaks from the heart and seems so devoted to Southampton football club. It is going to be a sad day when he hangs up his boots for us. Out of our quartet of England players, I know Jay Rod won't make it obviously, but he is the one I'm desperate to go. He deserves it so much. Forget the beetroot factory stuff, he has worked hard and proven himself in every division of English football, something no other England player has done and wears his heart on his sleeve. If you want passion but composure in the England top, I doubt you're find it more than in him. No 7
He says he knows there is a big possibility he won't go to the World Cup.....oh, Rickie If there is any justice in this world......
"Obviously we've got to keep the top players, keep the manager, and hopefully bring in 3 or 4 top quality players." If we achieve that this summer, I'll be buzzing before a ball is kicked.
Same for how devastated he was at Jay's injury despite Jay being possibly the main competitor for his spot at the world cup. I think it's impossible not to love Rickie.
Has a Saints player ever scored in 3 divisions for us, the League Cup, the JPT, the FA Cup, and a World Cup Finals? SRL is the only other No7 that I have called a Legend.
And, for older viewers, thereareonlythreeno7s. Only one Southampton no 7 has actually played in a World Cup Finals.
Also, the last time a Saints no 7 went to the world cup, we won it. Roy? You listening? Sent from my iPhone
