    Newton Abbott

    2.45 6/4 Ruapehu

Won as it liked a week ago beating a decent Harry Fry inmate. Likely to do the double whilst only having the mandatory 7lbs penalty on it's back.

    3.55 7/2 Changing The Guard

Loves it here. Trainer in unbelievable form. Best jockey up top. Easier race. I think it'll be backed and hopefully do the business.

I like the look of changing the guard but tizzard sends ouzi there who was in front by a couple of lengths not long ago and the terms are more in tizzards favour today good luck though bob

    I am at Newton Abbot today to see a certain mare run, here is what I will be backing;

    Howlongisafoot
    Ruapehu
The Rattler O'Brien and My Legal Lady
    Oiseau Du Nuit
    Northern Meeting
Ring Bo Ree and Ballyhilty Bridge
    Area Access

The last named looks a stonking bet for the each way bet to nothing thieves at 11/2!

Howlongisafoot/Ruapehu double pays 3.125-1 and looks fairly secure!

Danzoe 5 45 Nott --Christine Dunnett has booked Kirby for this

Good luck stick. Have a great day out. Hope PT has a nice run. Interesting that the bottom one was 2l behind Talent as a 2yo.

Jim Bolger's Earth Drummer may well be good enough to take the Maiden in Cork at 3:00. 6/1 currently. Good luck to all if you have a go today.

A few take the eye at Kempton today with the last mentioned being the best bet.

    1.45 Escalating 5-1
This horse ran very well for a long way in the Brocklesby, was clearly fancied as was sent off favourite for what is always a prestigious and targeted race for many of the horses running. I am a little worried by the price drift today but have decided to have a small wager on the horse despite it, more hopeful than confident however.

    2.20 Glen Moss 7-2
The yard are firing at present and this tempts me to believe the horse will be ready, if so his form is good enough to take this.

    3.30 Loving Spirit 11-2
This horse undoubtedly has the form to take this race but is very hard to win with, should he give his best however the price is a steal. The favourite is a false one in my book as flopped when turned out on turf under a penalty, now 12lb higher than his previous win at Wolverhampton when he won a class 5. He now runs 12lb higher as mentioned in a class 2, to my view should never be favourite on those facts alone as it is taking a view of the horse that would have to be exceptional. I am more certain the favourite wont win than my selection winning.

    4.35 Championship 4-1
This horse is closely matched with the 13-8 favourite in God Willing and it's the price that causes me to make Championship the selection. They both have decent but not top form, form nevertheless that should be able to win this race. Championship finished ahead of Berkshire when winning on his debut only to finish down the field in the Coventry before running creditably in a group 3, finishing 1 place and 2.1/2 lengths behind God Willing. His best performance was his debut so it may pay to catch him fresh today.

    5.05 Clowence Estate 7-2
This is my idea of the best bet of the day and I like this horse quite a bit and think he may go on to prove himself a decent stayer this season as. The horse is 5 years old but the connections are always patient and it often pays off. This is the one.

Limited internet for me today but my best bet I can't mention as it will be my comp pick if Inconvenienttrutch doesn't go for it first!

Otherwise as my Cyc comp picks, best being Bincombe, Bennys Well and Generous Ransom

    Be lucky <ok>

    2.40 Haydock

    Generous Ransom 17/2

I like the look of for the Nick Gifford team. Still unexposed with just 7 starts to date, this 6 year old is 2-2 since switching to handicaps and I thought he was impressive when winning at Wincanton over 2m6f under an enterprising front running ride by Richard Johnson. Upped 7lb for that success and in a better race, I think Generous Ransom definitely has the ability to cope with this harder task and I don't think the drop back to 2m4f will inconvenience him. Nick Gifford has his stable in fine fettle at the moment and Generous Ransom comes from a family that the yard know well and I definitely feel a mark of 123 is within his scope of ability and hopefully he can land this wide open contest at a nice enough price on what is Jamie Moore's first ride for the yard.

    5.05 Kempton

    White Nile 11/4

White Nile is a horse I've always thought had the ability to turn into a 100+ horse and after a disappointing (in my opinion) 4 year old campaign, he was very impressive on his debut for Ed Dunlop over C+D 10 days ago. Still a very lightly raced 5 year old, this son of Galileo ran out a ready winner by a comfortable 3.5L under today's jockey Ryan Moore and although he has a 7lb rise to contend with and is in a better race I certainly think he's well handicapped off a mark of 92 and he may well end up a 100+ rated horse after today. His current price of 11/4 is much bigger than I thought I'd see and I've had a really nice bet on him.
