http://www.manchestereveningnews.co...anchester-united-offer-trial-barefoot-7008088 A 16 year old from India has been offered a trial at United after being spotted by one of our scouts playing barefoot football on the streets
He's one of those targets Moyesey has had a quiet word with and Utd having no CL football won't stop him.
Bebe had shoes when United signed him? this kid doesn't. it beats Bebe cos this kid is even more homeless
There'll be a few emails from agents landing in the kids inbox with promises of wealth and glory under their guidance, anyway good luck to the kid and let's hope he breaks the mould for others in that part of the world.
Wonder how much of a factor India's untapped football market has a factor in giving this kid a trial.
LFC opened a couple of football schools there in January and they've proved the interest and potential is there Mano, expect City and the Chavs to follow suit.
There is a huge football market opening up there tbh. Coworkers I've had from India all say how; whereas Cricket is the main love of older generations, younger generations are turning to football in bigger and bigger numbers. Over 300 million people under the age of 30 in India. As they get older, and new generations join the football craze- that could be a potential market that grows to 1.6 billion with football as number 1 sport.
Cos he's even more homeless, like I already said. this kid possibly suffered from malnutrition probably all his life, wouldn't make for a long career. I actually hope he does get signed though, amazing turnaround in life for the kid.
It's a poor indictment of our game that the sum total of any asian breaking through to top flight football is Michael Chopra. Truly shocking and I've seen first hand how these kids get overlooked in trials.
Don't forget the great Zesh Rehman. I can't believe coaches and scouts would overlook an Asian any more than any other minority. Lots of other possible reasons- diet, a culture focused more towards education or other things etc.
