You have to be a Club Wembley Gold member to park your helicopter, I'm afraid just having a ticket isn't enough. I'd give you my slot, but I'm already using it to land my Chinook.
To be honest, I don't remember ever seeing a helicopter landing at Wembley. I think it's possibly just something they offer to people who they know haven't got helicopters, just to look flash.
It is a standing joke in the little group that I travel to matches with that when asked how long it took to get to games I always complain that it took longer to get to and from the helicopter than actually fly to the match. When folks find that I have a season card, they always ask how long it takes, the answer now is generally "that depends on my landing slot at Humberside". In the past I have had the debate about flying to home games and if it would actually be quicker. My average driving time is 3.50, I will be coming up on Saturday and expect to do the run in around 3.35 door to door. If I a/ could afford it b/ was daft enough, would flying actually be quicker door to door? personally I don't think there would be much in it.
I distictly remember a helicopter flying into wembley stadium in 28 weeks later, before flying off nd infecting france, I dont believe they were gold club members either
I'd certainly rather go by train from London to Paris than mess about with a plane. I did go from London to Luxembourg by plane but that was before Eurostar and anyway there's no direct trains to Luxembourg even now.
I vaguely remember that Brighton couldn't use the chopper (not Harris) for the replay because there was low cloud cover. And Smith must score...
For the semi-final, I was under the impression all workers went into a raffle for free tickets? I assume it would be the same again?
Does anyone know what passholder details those who went as a +1 need? Like name, address, seat number or whatever? Possibly bank account details and sort code number? Also, as I got 2 tickets for someone with the "+1" thing, will they only need my (lead applicant) details or also the other passholders on the application which made it possible to qualify for the extra tickets? If you know what I mean.
I'm guessing (and it's all that it is) the lead is only linked to one +1 the other +1's will be linked to other passes. (Again, I'm guessing here) That means they'll need enough information to determine which pass the +1 is claiming to link to, so name and address of that passholder should be enough, but seat and pass details would be a bonus. The club will then tick off that pass holder as having used their +1 stopping it being used twice. I'd guess that if someone knew a passholder details and tried claiming a ticket, it'd come to light when the genuine claimant called in, and the club could ring the pass holder to see which one's real. Likewise, the phase III people will be on the system in their own right, so phase I stubs/details can't be reused.
That amendment: Please note that Season Card holders can purchase tickets on behalf of other Season Card holders - please bring all relevant Season Cards/details with you. Season Card holders from different stands that wish to sit together at Wembley can do so. For example if 3 Season Card holders from the South Stand and 2 from the East Stand wish to sit together, one person can bring all of the relevant Season Cards during the East Stand sales period and purchase seats together.
