According to Corriere dello Sport, Tottenham have already signed Allegri.

If this ends up being true then this confirms that Baldini is in charge of selecting the manager, which is how the Dof system should work, but whether his judgement should be trusted is up for debate considering his track record at Roma of selecting managers and his transfer signings.

  5. Christ! This bloke sounds like the Italian version of Sherwood! Now, we'll have all the problems that we currently have, but with the addede problem of a language barrier and a foreign training regime!

Why does Levy keep employing losers, instead of paying good money for a winner?

Does this mean that Gaal is going to United or Arsenal?

    It's probably bullshit, HIAG.

It's worse than Sherwood. His overall record isn't much better than Mark Hughes'!! <yikes>

If and I say IF it is true, it confirms mine and many others feelings on here that our Chairman has to go and this would be a joke appointment - right up there with Juande Ramos. Levy really knows how to surround himself with very poor advisors doesn't he!

Anybody that can hire AVB, and then compound that **** up by appointing Sherwood, should be deemed capable ( capable??) of anything.

Let's just hope, no pray, that it's B.S. and that we're not all here in a couple of months saying, "well, let's give the guy chance"

So Baldini, who left roma (they improved when he left) has allegedly recommended hiring a manager who was sacked from his last two jobs. Normal clubs would laugh it off but its the type of situation we expect from the people employed to hire and fire.

Allegra, isn't that an allergy medicine?

Doesn't make sense, this signing is going to leave spurs with red watery eyes.

ROMA - Massimiliano Allegri in Premier League.

I wouldn't believe it until the Beeb announce it. The quote from above is nuts... it's not even in proper English! ;)

Must be a ploy, we all kick off about Allaggro so Levy thinks he can reprieve Sherwood and not have to pay him off.

    Awesome translation...

Betting scandal. We've seen it before.

Those who play the markets should lay this one on.

ESPN are claiming that their sources at Spurs have rubbished this already, claiming that he's not even in the running.
Sounds like they might've been given notice by the club on the sly, hoping to kill this one off before it's got going, as the fans are unlikely to appreciate it.

Doesn't make much sense to me, to be honest. If we were going to bring him in, then why wouldn't we just do it now?
