Not only does he sign a complete tosser in Kebe at god knows what cost. Having not played last nine games, and now injured supposedly for the next two, McD keeps him at Leeds even suggesting he still has a part to play. Why? Our season is over, were staying up, why do we need the palace reject for one minute longer. This is the last in a long line of bewildering decisions by our coach

Certainly is strange. The only reason could be perhaps he plans on having good ol' Jimmy around next season. If I was a betting man , and I am, I would say neither will be there!

A wee touch of hysteria here, I think, Eire. First of all, BM is probably as disappointed as the rest of us by Kebe's performances, but who could have predicted his utter failure? Not one word on this or any other forum prior to his signing proclaimed this impending disaster. I'm sure BM has the same hindsight as everyone else has developed since Kebe stepped over the white line, but he is in a position where he cannot possibly rubbish a player publicly in the same way we can. He would most certainly lose all trust & credibility with the players if he did so. So what can he do? He's got him on contract. The contract probably stipulates that he must play when fit. He's rubbish. He knows it & BM knows it. A fake injury? It's a perfect fit that saves face all round - apart from BM, that is. He's taken both barrels on this one and kept his mouth shut. If this is indeed the scenario, then I have nothing but admiration for BM. As though he didn't have enough troubles!

McDonut loves him and obviously still has faith in him and he cant be that bad the mighty Holloway signed him once <ok>

Kebe scored both the goals as Reading beat Sunderland at home 2–1, to move out of the relegation zone. After the match Reading captain Jobi McAnuff proclaimed Kébé to be a a big player for Reading and a real sight to see when he's in full flow and I'm glad he's in our side when he's on song like this.".[17] After the same game, Kébé also received special praise from manager Brian McDermott who proclaimed Kébé has been brilliant for me in the three years I have had this job.[18]

I don't think there were too many people unhappy when Kebe signed, I was one who was glad he joined, he was very good at Reading, unfortunately for us it hasn't worked out.
I'm with WJ on this one

Funny how when you get blinded by hatred you grab at every little thing you can to have a go at the one who irks you (and no, the OP is not being singled out here because we all do it on occasion) ... WJ is pretty much spot on with what he's said, Kebe hasn't coped, like so many with reputations before him, of playing at Leeds and the expectation that comes with it ... look, playing for Reading or Palace does not carry anywhere near the weight it does to play at Leeds ... at those other clubs most times you are raising your game against bigger clubs, and if you manage to get promotion or avoid relegation then great, but nobody is going to turn around and say you failed if you don't

At Leeds its completely different, sold out away ends, lots of expectation to win matches regardless, every game an examination of character and determination because the opposition are running 50% faster, tackling 75% harder, trying their hardest to beat you because you wear a White shirt and have the Leeds United badge on your chest ... that is why players like Kebe suddenly falter when they come here, its a totally different game where the pressure is immense and the expectation high ... its so much easier to take people on without the fear of losing the ball when you don't have the pressure of playing for Leeds hanging over you ... its so much easier shooting from distance or gambling in the box when you know your performance isn't going to be analysed by hundreds of thousands of supporters across the world

As Leeds fans we have seen reputations come and go, we have seen quality players reduced to schoolboy level, seasoned pros turned into trembling wrecks ... to succeed at Leeds you have to thrive under pressure, which is why certain players like a Vinnie Jones can step in and be a hit immediately, and why our Academy lads seem capable of stepping up because they understand our club ... to relentlessly blame McD for Kebe falling short is laughable, and McDs handling of the situation has been nothing short of professional ... at least he is trying to save a player's dignity by treating him with respect, a player who in the past was his best player when they won the Championship ... McD trusted Kebe when he signed him, and nobody could have forseen what was going to happen, but at least McD hasn't behaved as badly as Colin did when publicly blaming Tom Lees

For me McD is a class act, a manager who is held in very high regard within the game, a man with integrity who treats people with respect, but unfortunately a very good manager who won't be here next season due to the cruelest of circumstances ... so be it, but one thing is a given, form is temporary but class is permanent ... ask Reading if they regret sacking Brendan Rodgers today, because although McD will lose his job in June, we will see him back on the touchline leading a club to glory, like it or not

PS. if McD could have sent Kebe back he would have done by now, and the statement to the press would probably have said "Kebe recalled to help with relegation fight" or something like that, because Pulis, another good football man, wouldn't want a mentally scarred player back ... that is why McD said what he did, he is showing Pulis and other managers that he can be trusted with their players and in future loaning players to Leeds will be good because you know McD will look after them

So no, I genuinely cannot call McD an imbecile over this

Billy, It's not the fact Kebe is crap, all managers make bad signings, some more than others, but to give Kebe one where he couldn't be sent back if injured was ridiculous. That's not hindsight. Surely McD should have learned from singing the forest lad who was crocked after a handful of games. Wonder what outfit will Cellino make him wear Saturday in dugout, hopefully not the Lucas kop kat one

Morning all. No BMD is not an imbecile. Its just that signing players is not an exact science. Even old red nose had the odd failure. As I've said elsewhere, if Kebe does play for us again, let's hope he shows what he can do. As it is far from certain he'll be retained for next season, he'll need to put himself in the shop window. Based on what he's done for us so far, I can't imagine too many managers will be that interested.

Does anyone have any proof that McD was responsible for the contract for Kebe?

It's never worked that way before.

Here is what I don't understand... Kebe joined at the same time as Stewart, Stewart had to return in the middle of his time with us as the emergency loan only allows a permitted length of time, to my knowledge Kebe has not had to do the same thing?

On another note, I would have had more respect for the manager had he just been up front and if it is the case we are stuck with him say so. He needn't have done it with any malice.

Yes I was optimistic when we signed him, after the first game I though Oh Dear I hope this gets better, after the second I had seen enough to realise this wasn't going to be getting any better.

Never mind, it matters not any longer as now we are all waiting for the end of the season to find out what lays ahead in what will be a new chapter under Cellino
