    Saturday 19[SUP]th[/SUP] April
    Kick off 3pm

    Aston Villa v Saints
    Venue: Villa Park

Form: (most recent on the right)
    Villa - WWLLLL
    Saints - WWLWLL

Betting has the away team for a win:
    Villa 23/10, Saints 23/20, Draw 12/5

Referee – Lee Mason, aged 42. (his first game ever was ‘Boro v Villa October 2006) Born Bolton, rumour is he is a Bolton fan.

Saints travel to Villa Park on the back of a home defeat to Cardiff and an away defeat to Man City . Villa are hosting the Saints after an away defeat to Palace and a home defeat to Fulham. Villa have lost 4 on the trot, Saints are looking got avoid defeat for the third time in a row. Last season the Saints won 1-0 with a Rickie Lambert penalty, but are looking to avenge a 3-2 reverse at St Mary's this year after Villa came out victors with 3 shots on goal to Saints 21.

Injury wise Saints are without the influential England international Jay Rodriguez, but hopefully Artur Boruc is back after two games out. Villa are without the influential Benteke and Delph and surprisingly Ian Culverhouse and Gary Karsa as coaches.

I think we’ll win 3-1, though a win would mean I would have to do the next thread….

    COYR!

PS forgot to mention, I'm Stoked, Pumped, Buzzing, & Excited.

Lets hope you DO have to do the next one! Last season Saints only picked up 3 points from their last 6 games so i'm not over confident for these remaining matches. Having said that, 6 more points must surely be a reasonable hope. If our heads are right I think we should manage a 2 goal win at Villa Park.

Well done No 7, first of a winning run stretching well into next season I hope!

We have little left to play for apart from keeping ahead of Newcastle, but I hope we can avoid a defeat and get back into the groove again.

It's funny, I was thinking about last season's match at Villa Park, where Jay Rodriguez did little apart from from win a dubious penalty which won us the game. What a difference from the form he has been in this season. We will certainly miss him at the start of 2014-15.

Is that better than Stoked or Pumped..?

I remember Danny Kaye asking Bing Crosby, in a film, how much was Wow..? Crosby answered that it was somewhere between Ouch and Boing..! :)

Where is buzzing on that scale..? ;)

1-1, I know Villa are **** but they'll fight hard due to their position. Think they'll score first and we'll pull it back to a draw, unlike last week. Gaston to start again, got unneccesary abuse last week.

Gaston's out of this game due to an injury he picked up Vs Cardiff, unfortunately.

Gaston was already struggling with a turned ankle and managed to turn the other one against Cardiff, he hasn't a leg to stand on!

Luckily we are in the position that it is not critical. Can you imagine these injuries during some of our other PL seasons:emoticon-0120-doh:

Going for a draw tomorrow....though secretly hoping for a win.

Nice and relaxed before this game. If Villa's general play is like at St Mary's and we have 70-80% possession then I can't see the home supporters being happy and don't think they'll take too long to get on the players and the managers back.

Think we need Gallagher to do his best Rodriguez impression and do plenty of running off the ball to make space for Adz & Co

See some Americans want to buy Villa for 200 mill, but only if they stay in the PL..no pressure then. Don't know how much their players are worth (always part of the valuation), but makes our valuation estimate of 150 mill for Saints look pretty realistic. (Don't tell Katharina...she has no idea :)).

I like Guly and appreciate his efforts in our promotions, but he is leaving in the summer and is not adding a huge amount to the team when he comes off the bench. I would like to see someone from the academy take his bench spot.

Boruc, Clyne, Lovren, Fonte, Shaw, Cork, Schneiderlin, Davis, Lambert, Lallana, Gallagher

Gazzaniga, Chambers, Hooiveld, Wanyama, Ward-Prowse, McQueen, Reed

Having listed that bench, there is not a lot of striking options or replacements. So put Guly back in for one of the midfielders, sorry Guly

That is so difficult to argue with as it makes perfect sense. However, there is a Premier League goal in him and I'd love it to be against United, but if not, anyone.

Guys, just seen two magpies and a found a four leaf clover. I think we'll do this. Worried about our lack of fluidity up front without J-Rod, but I think we're too strong for them and it sounds like we may have a keeper in goal for this one.

3-1 after going 2-0 up. Lambert penalty, Lallana header and big Sam to score again.

I think if we can frustrate them (and their fans), that could be the key, and our possession should do that.
