I think it will be a battling role, cover for Sterling when he breaks forward, get the ball down and get it forward. A slightly more defensive, less engine Henderson.
Gerrard plays the holding role but the other CM roles are box-to-box, perfect for Hendo, Allen and Lucas
Wouldn't mind having Sturridge on the bench. He's not been at hi best last few weeks anyway, plus it would have a game changer on the bench if thing aren't going too well compared to having to bring on Aspas/Moses etc. I'd go for midfield 3 of Gerrard Allen Lucas with a front 3 of Sterling & Coutinho wide of Suarez.
The most important thing about this weekends game imo........Win and we are guaranteed group stage champions league football!!!
After Man City drawing tonight I think It would take a miracle for you not to win the title now lads you deserve It for the way you have played tbh unfortunately lol
Meh it'd take a miracle for Sunderland to get anything at city.... Oh wait.... All we need do is lose to Chelsea.... We are not so easily fooled. It's all about Norwich first, then we'll see the situation
I hear what your saying but be realistic you put at least 4-5 past Norwich home or away for fun you have won the last 10 lol only Chelsea provide a realistic challenge In your remaining games and you can afford to draw that ??
I think we should leave Sturridge on the bench even if he is fit. Suarez likes Norwich. A lot. I think we should play him as the striker. Let the dog see the Canary, so to speak.
Past ten are meaningless. Just like rolling a dice or flipping a coin, if the past ten are heads there nothing to say the next one will be too.... If the coin or dice is fair and not biased...... Which of course some people now need to believe the refs are to rationalise this 8/10 times city win 4/5-0 only 1/10 do they draw I dunno.... We can win well but until we do we have to assume it will take a big effort and frankly a scrappy 1-0 would be just fine.
The Norwich game is there to be won. If our side does its job properly we win. Our record against them counts for nothing except that it may have a detrimental effect upon them.
We have no idea how the team will respond to that though - say we do beat Norwich and then Chelsea come to Anfield and we know a draw is enough, that kind of thinking could undo us. Nothing is won yet, we need to keep focused and try to win every game and try to ignore what others results are for the minute.
No way Brod will play for a draw. Plus, at that stage (assuming we've beaten Norwich), a win wouldn't be enough for the title. A win would leave us room for error in the remaining two games so a win IS the target.
