Whether or not we were put in a bid for him is irrelevant, He just tore Barcelona a new 1 tonight and that was without Cristiano Ronaldo, people said Bale would be a flop in his first season at Real Madrid, how wrong they were, he's got 20 goals and 16 assists for them, which is a fantastic achievement given the fact that he's had no pre-season, I expect him to be up there with Ronaldo in the next 2 years.
Definitely, and on this season is probably 2nd/3rd, Messi wouldn't even be in my top 3 on form this season. His record still looks decent but his performances have been pretty dreadful all season. Dunno what's going on if he's just not trying and doing this walking about thing so he don't get injured for the WC or if the team just aren't giving him the ball enough or if he just wants to leave. Either way Ronaldo, Suarez, Bale are the 3 best in the world on form atm for me
After a bit of a shaky start, which is understandable, he's proved a lot of people wrong (including myself). Done extremely well in his first season, fair play to the lad. I agree with the Chelsea poster currently Messi is and has been off the boil and can't just remain the best player about due to reputation. Ronaldo, Suarez and Bale are all playing better and have been some some time now. And I know Gerrez has a man crush on Neymar but he's been a bit of a let down to be honest - not to mention he missed an absolute sitter last night to make it 2-2 in the last minute! If Suarez did end up at Madrid (I hope he doesn't!) just imagine that front three - it would be unstoppable.
I don't think Messi will ever regain his peak of 2/3 years ago, personally. He's also lost about a yard of pace. But even now he is one of the best players in the world and we would all want him at our club in a heartbeat. Top 4 for me are still - Ronaldo, Messi, Iniesta, Robben. Bale has had a very good first season, but a bit too early to class him in the top 4 atm. Jese at Real has been just as impressive imo. I'm not anti-Suarez - he's a top striker but Diego Costa and Ibrahimovich have done more than him and I wouldn't have any of them in the top 4.
Fair shout - although I wouldn't put Iniesta in there, he seems to be in decline (slightly). Not sure how old he is? But he's no spring chicken. If we're looking at Top 5 - in no particular order mine would be. Ronaldo Messi Suarez Robben Neuer I do believe that if Bale keeps improving it won't be long until he gets on that list. I also agree with you on Jese. He looks absolute class, big fan of him personally..
Dont care at all. Hes Welsh and plays in spain and has absolutely **** all to do with anything relevent.
Not yet in my opinion - Possibly by the end of next season. I put Neuer in as he's level above any other keeper in World football imo - and Keepers, defenders etc don't get the credit they often deserve. Neuer has it all, unbelievable keeper imo.
Iniesta started the season poorly, but second half of season he's been excellent - even if Barca haven't. I think he's let down by others, including last night. If he had a proper number 9 in front of him, he'd be one of the standout players. I rate him for what he does more than what Barca do - he's impossible to dispossess, his tackling (little terrier), the way he still runs at defences, BUT most importantly his ability to see a pass and play it a second before anyone else has even seen it.
Messi is 15/8 for the Ballon Do'r this year, surely the only way he can win it is if he carries Argentina to WC success. Ronaldo is available at 10/3, that looks a good bet to me
Stats aren't everything. Bale has had a fair few injuries, and had no pre season. So his overall return isn't going to be that high. He also has the problem of playing with Ronaldo, so he's always going to be playing 2nd fiddle to him. If you where playing in Madrids midfield, and you seen Ronaldo one side and Bale the other, both in acres of space, who would you pass to? It is all down to opinions at the end of the day, but if I could pick any player in the world at United other than Messi or Ronaldo, it would be Bale, as I think he has more talent than any of the rest. Suarez has had a great season, but Real chose Bale over Suarez as they couldn't afford both, and I'm sure they aren't regretting that decision
No they are not everything. Yet they are what the game runs on for the most part funnily enough but it's convenient for you to discount them because they don't back your argument. Bale's a very good player no doubt but he is just not as good as you make out. Sorry.
Bale has been going missing in important Real games, Eventually he has an impact on a big game and the lube is passed around by the media and baleites.
This is the contradiction, thanks You've all been banging on about Suarez, "oh he scores 29 goals and has 12 or more assists but he doesn't do it in every game", that's what I read between the lines when one of you trolls post "Suarez doesn't do it in the big games" If Suarez had scored against all of the sides we played against, or almost all he's have 40 goals, I think that's a bit much to be expecting of a player. Yet here you are all hailing someone who has half the goals and assists, as brilliant, 3rd best in the world
