I think with a bit of luck and good fortune we could be challenging for that europa spot, for instance of the quality players we are buying can gel together quickly and not get injured.

Theres absolutely no reason we shouldn't be thinking about it though, I think its mostly going to come down to who we bring in up front, because you would have to say at the moment our midfield is looking pretty tasty. (OOH ER)

I reckon its possible but can see us finishing anywhere between 7th and 10th.

I think unless we sign another couple of quality strikers, we should be looking no further than consolidating our mid-table finish from last season. We've lost our two main goal scorers and have to bed in new players - i'll be happy with staying out of relegation trouble.

We're selling him and we have Ba anyway (not to mention trying to sign 2 more strikers as well).

I'll second that, Joker. I think the aim is to improve from the season just been; whether it's 7th or 11th place as long as we feel we've made progress. I don't want us to get ahead of ourselves and go out to settle for nothing less than Europe, we've made some very good signings (and hopefully more to come) so it could take a few games for some of the players to adapt to the PL. Also if we do sign 2 very good strikers I shall be very excited, if we can hold onto Joey and maybe even Jose (or maybe not) then we will have a squad with an abundance of talent! <ok>

Good point about the goalscorers. I think people can sometimes get caught up with the fact we've signed lots of flair players and think that equals goals, but in reality, unless you have a player that suits their game, it doesn't.

I mean Carroll and Nolan scored 23 goals for us last year. That really needs a solid replacement, both up front and from midfield

Our strongest midfield is very strong, stronger than Fulham, Everton, Stoke and the mackems. If we buy a couple top class players then i really think Europe is possible.

Our strongest team at the moment is :

    -------------------- Krul ---------------------

    Simpson ----- Taylor --- Coloccini ----- Enrique

    --------- Barton/Cabaye ---- Tiote ---------------

    ----- Jonas ----- Ben Arfa ----- Marvauex -----
    --------------------Ba ---------------------

that still looks pretty damn strong! And with maybes a top class striker and maybes another winger we should be challenging for europe
