Only the keeper was in his own half when Bale got possession, the goalkeeper was on the edge of the area and Luis would have saved himself the bother of trying to run the ball into the net by lobbing the keeper from the halfway line.<whistle>

As Sunderland have proven, teams fighting for their lives aren't going to roll over and let you walk all over them!
Must earn the right to play our football, if we do that, then the result "should" take care of itself!

  10. The thing is, teams fighting for their lives is probably a good thing for us. The fact they need wins rather than draws mean they will be more open which plays into our hands. I'm also think Palace and Newcastle won't have anything to play for.

But, as you rightly said along with many others including myself; one game at a time!

  12. Bad defender by the guy in the box too. I know there is a player there but his teammate is beaten with Bale baring down on goal, don't just leave him to shoot! <doh>

He tried to take out Bale and then thought better off it, but that's where lack of experience shows. Think it was Batra who is young, but had that been Puyol, Masch or Pique, if they were getting beaten for pace in that situation they wouldn't grabbed him, or tripped him.

Was a good goal, but all he did was knock it 20 yards past a player and then out ran him... nearly ****ed it up with a **** 2nd touch to get in the box!

Piss poor defending and keeping yet just heard 5live ****ing on about it. Grreat pace and strength from bale but imagine if that was Johnson defending, he would not be able to show his face in Liverpool again

I agree to a certain extent - but to show that amount of pace (****ing rapid) in the 85th minute and then to cooly slot it past the keeper I thought was very impressive.

Bale considering his shaky start has been excellent for Madrid - 20 goals and 16 assists (i think?).

Not tempting fate but imagine Suarez in the middle of Ronaldo and Bale - they would be unplayable <yikes>

Great, he's fast. Must be world class <doh>

****ing Bale and the media ****fest over him for every goal he scores. Thank God he's not English or I'd be drowning in the superlative jizz seeping out of the BBC

  20. TBF, that's why Michael Owen was considered World Class when he was with us.
