It does make me more qualified.

It doesn't make me right though.

It's all about opinions, and like arseholes we've all got one!

Yes you do have an opinion and we've dismissed it as being idiotic.

It's alright trotting out qualifications but if you are biased then you can use that to reinforce your opinion -which I also think is a load of bollocks, sorry. Suarez lacks pace -that's a new one!

None of his arguements have provided any substance. He also tried to make out that pace is everything.Luis Suarez has the first 10 yards in his head.He doesn't need to be ultra quick, anyway some of the speed-merchants are one dimensional.Michael Owen being the prime example.

Ok maybe he isn't pacy but he has got very good acceleration. The goal against united required some speed as well as a lot of skill.

The way he dribbles past players reminds of Messi, whilst not as good in raw talent - he adds a lot to play and his price tag does no justice to the talent he has.

If Carroll could develop into a good striker, then Suarez could make him into a 25 goal a season striker through his assists alone and still grab 15 for himself.

That had nothing to do with acceleration,it had to do with balance and skill.

Adult discussion? Sounds like someone with industry experience gave their honest, professional opinion and all you scousers decided to shout him down with childish abuse when it didn't fit the liverpool doctrine.

    http://valkysblog.blogspot.com/2011/02/bluebarneys-excellent-dissection-of.html

This article prefects describes the behavior seen in this thread.

On a side note, you do realise in your role as a moderator that you represent this forum, and your childish outbursts only serve to hurt the reputation of this site and hamper it's ability to attract advertising that will allow it to be continue to stay live.

    Show a bit of gratitude.

Actually I think we'd all argue that you are doing more harm to this site than KPR.

Also, the first paragraph alone of that crap excuse for a blog sounds like a bitter, so we can automatically dismiss it as inane drivel.

"Someone with industry experience," who we all disagreed with, and hence put forwards our views on the matter. Just because he did a few qualifications and some scout reports does not make his opinion more valid than our own when we talk about players we watch week in, week out.

I could go and do some coaching qualifications next week, it won't make me any more knowledgeable about Suarez and Carroll than the week before.

Pace in and of itself is not the be all and end.

As he has been mentioned above let's take Hernandez. Now he has been described as a pacey player However, look at his performance in the CL final. Now barcelona's defence are not noted as being the quickest but they managed to catch Hernandez off-side countless times (19 I think! - sorry couldn't resist that one). Pace is useless if the player does not have the inteligence to use it.

Owen, during his Liverpool days had pace and inteligence. Fowler had less pace but a greater goalscoring gift. MacMannaman had more skill than both of them but lacked blistering pace. Now Suarez is far from being slow but does not have blistering pace. He does however have a quick brain and as has been observed above two of the fastest feet that I've seen for years. Therefore for my money, you can keep Hernandez as Suarez can both score and make goals whereas Hernandez does not really have that in his game.

As for Carroll. He can get fitter and stronger. If he does then he has the equipment to become a modern-day Shearrer.

Now if you want to identify an area where Liverpool do not currently have pace then it's (don't all shout at once!) out wide - hopefully that will be resolved this summer.

Do you not agree that KPR juvenile, personal insults are more often than not unjustified? Did John Schofield really warrant the level of abuse you lot gave him?

You lot moan about people derailing threads but when someone comes in offering an opinon, that you may/or may not agree with, you don't just gang up on him and shout the loudest. That's what kids do.

    Dave.
    Brilliant piece.Pure genius.Comment of the night 100%.
Could you put something like that into an article by demonstrating that ''pace'' is not everything. That players can get by with energy and skill and sometimes just energy ie Kevin Keegan.
Kenny Dalglish was not the quickest, but he had possibly the sharpest brain of any player,He played football in his head.He used to tell Ian Rush(who had the pace) where to run,and Ian Rush would run into that space. And every time he did,Rush would meet the pass.It was defence splitting. It didn't stop Kenny scoring plenty of goals himself,it was give and go,he would start and finish moves. However look at Ngog, who is quick, but he's not got the intelligence to use it properly.Ryan Babel who was like an express train, doesn't have the intelligence either.
