Rangers fans were warned again today by the Ibrox club not to engage in any sectarian singing at games. The Light Blues supporters were warned about their contentious repertoire before the Champions League clash with Manchester United at Ibrox last month. Ahead of the trip to Inverness in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League, Rangers' official website reminded fans that "the club is at serious risk of punishment by footballing authorities if sectarian behaviour is in evidence among its fans". The statement continued: "This includes the singing of songs such as the Billy Boys, which is banned by UEFA, and the Famine Song, which has led to people being arrested and convicted in the past." Have Rangers, or any other set of fans, been warned in this fashion before an SPL match? If not, why now? http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/10122010/63/rangers-issue-warning-songs.html
A ****ing joke of a decision. If it's going to be a UEFA wide clamp down, then I hope that the Turks, Italians, Dutch, Russians, French and the Dutch are also "lucky" enough to be the recipients of the glass jar held against the t.v screen? Or will the visual of them smashing the **** out of each other outside their respective grounds with grenades, knives and guns be enough to decide that strict action is needed? Meanwhile in the away end at Invershagmaownsister F.C, Rangers fans are singing the Billy Boys to a bunch of pitch fork-laden inbreds who have never travelled further than the M8 in their lives and decide to throw ripe tatties (sorry for tattie reference Taigs) at Rangers fans? "Hi Pete, it's Stewarty Regan, jist saw ra footage, dinnae worry, its all squared away. Jist make sure ra drop at Bairds is taken care of"
Only a Rangers fan could become so pathetically outraged when they're told not to act like stupid weans or face the consequences. You really are a quite pitiable individual BH, the anger at petty wee insignificances such as this is nothing short of sheer moronism.
Gosh, yes. I mean only a Rangers fan would write to UEFA saying they heard ra bad words such as "up to our knees in fenian scum" Perhaps only a Rangers fan would write to the SFA demanding that Shug resigns for sending on a pretty funny email? Or perhaps only a Rangers fan would write to Sepp Blatter saying "Dear Sepp, did ya hear ra bad Proddies sing ra Famine Song??" "Peyoor bigots so they are an awrat, Love Declan, Aged 35"
But I never made any comments about those things in any regard. You're the Rangers fan posting sad petty ravings day after day. It exposes you as a ****ing imbicile. My comments were aimed at you, because I feel the need to pull you up at every opportunity now. I'm not accepting your bigoted ****e on here. Yes there are Celtic fans making those claims but not on this board. Not606 has a fairly open-minded number of Tims. But what do songs about "Fenian Blood" have to do with a football match? Especially a football match between Rangers and Valencia which is why this has come to the fore again. Playing a Spanish team in a continental cup competition but singing The Famine Song and The Billy Boys Tina posts an article about a legitimate problem in our game but we get the typical bigoted and boring ****e from a cock like you.
