Lets get back to footy shall we... We regards to the above question, no news.. (no news could be good news..) but I doubt if he's got a niggle he'd be risked. If the possibility of a bit of rest means Sturridge will be available for the Chelsea game, then, no "disrespect" to Norwich, but I think we'll go with a front three of Ford, Sterling and Suarez.
I'd rather him on the bench. Besides the injury niggle, he's not been close to his best form the last few games and I think he's started making some poor decisions of late too. I think a game on the bench (or sub appearance if needed) will be good for him so he can watch the team play and show that he's not a guaranteed starter.
I'd trust our medical staff on this... if there is any doubt he can make it 90mins without causing more problems... rest him. If no doubts... don't rest him.
i think any hamstring is dangerous. hes been taken off consistently lately so i feel they've been managing an issue. i would rest him.. no question i think 4-3-3 will work v norwich but we'll see.
Midfield of Gerrard, Lucas, Allen, front three of Coutinho, Suarez, Sterling. Provides cover, harrassing, and ability to go and attack. You could also Diamond that and put Sterling up top with Suarez to provide runs behind.
my thoughts exactly and mirrors the home tie closely. sturridge has something shown on a scan he should be nowhere near the pitch this weekend cos he will miss the next 3 imo if he does.
He needs the break anyway. He has been trying way way too hard to score since he has gone cold and it is maybe even affecting the attack a bit as that selfishness that a striker needs to show is taking over a bit too much.
Said this before, earlier in the thread and I expect a diamond shape: ------------------Migs Johnson--Skrtel--Sakho--Fanagan ----------------Gerrard ----------Lucas------Allen ---------------Coutinho ---------Sterling-----Suarez but could easily be a 4-3-3: ------------------Migs Johnson--Skrtel--Sakho--Fanagan -----------------Gerrard -------Lucas--------------Allen Sterling----------------------Coutinho ------------------Suarez
you are a very wise football man, i merely bow to your knowldge as i do when dave or certain others grace the pages with interesting thoughts
i can certainly see this being the case and think we should see the former when in possession and the latter when defending.... though i feel we will see more of lucas deep and glen johnson more advanced to provide width. don't be shocked to see lucas play regista and gerrard freed to jog about a bit via the double pivot
When Lucas came on in the West Ham game he was pushed forward and Gerrard stayed deep. I expect that will be the same, don't break Gerrard from his position, let him keep dictating play and make Lucas adapt his game for the team.
When Lucas arrived in Merseyside he had been previously used as an Attacking Midfielder. It took him years to adapt to be a quality defensive midfielder... I hope it doesn't take him as long to adapt to being an attacking midfielder again! :O
