Hull's Robbie Brady hungry for FA Cup final action Ireland international Robbie Brady is targeting a return to action before the end of the season with Hullâs FA Cup final with Arsenal a motivating factor. The former Manchester United player has been out of action with groin and hernia problems for the past few months and it was initially thought that he would miss the rest of the campaign. However, Bradyâs recovery is slightly ahead of schedule and after Hullâs win over Sheffield United he has an extra incentive to get involved with a 17 May date at Wembley on his mind. âIâll look towards getting in the squad against Everton in the last game of the season, and then hopefully a cup final,â Brady told RTÃ Sportâs Soccer Republic. Brady has some familiar faces at the Tigers in the shape of fellow internationals Stephen Quinn, David Meyler, both of whom scored in the semi-final win over Sheffield United, Shane Long and Paul McShane. âItâs good to have them around; itâs good to have the home-grown boys with us,â said the 22-year-old. âWe do have a laugh and itâs good knowing we're going away with the international team if a few of us are selected. Weâre all good mates on and off the pitch.â The St Kevinâs Boys graduate has six Ireland caps and scored on his debut against Oman in 2012. He said that representing his country means everything to him. âItâs brilliant, I love every minute of it, I love playing for my country. Itâs great at every age but this has always been the main aim to get into the first team,â he said. âIt was great for my debut to get a goal, it was unbelievable. Looking back, I think I could have done things better in that game but first game and all the rest of it, it was great to get a goal and make a name for myself in the green jersey.â http://www.rte.ie/sport/soccer/irish/2014/0415/609059-brady/
Personally, I'd save him, let him take his time and be sure he's made a full recovery ahead of pre season. He'll be extremely rusty anyway after barely kicking a ball since September. I would say have him on huge bench just in case but even that will mean likely pushing himself to be fit in time.
He must be a right fat basted if he needs a huge bench. Leave him for next season now, or, loan him out to north ferriby. Has tickles said this yet.....
I am not sure about playing in the Final. It will take a long time for him to get back to his best and build up his confidence.
Of course he's hoping to play again. Doesn't mean he will. Or if he does that he would get much action.
