It's the 21st Century. The UK is one of the richest countries in the world, yet 1 million food parcels are handed out so people can feed their kids. That's bad enough, but what's far worse is that no **** gives a ****. Well done Mrs Thatcher, you really did rip out the heart of Britain, then piss on it.
There are two points, I'm reluctant to get hysterical about the problem because we have a growing obesity crisis happening with the very same demographic that are going to food banks. Secondly, private charities appear catering for this (ill-defined) problem - I'm not sure what we want the Government to do?
There probably aren't any easy answers (to either question). But I'd like to see the government acknowledge that there is a problem, and acknowledge that they have a responsibility to try and resolve it. Oh yeah, and they could start by increasing the minimum wage to £10ph.

This is all very personal. Poor people starving must elicit the same emotion in you as when horses die - what I don't understand though is that you were calling for a cull of poor fat people a while ago, now they've no food it's a disaster?
It's because those with a victim mentality empathise with actual victims. Be that horses or dole scum.
