Ignore him, he knows absolutely **** all about football. If Chelsea and United both went in for Shaw, he would choose Chelsea. Cole will be off this summer and I'm guessing Bertrand will be too, which leaves us with no natural left backs. Plus he supports us.
I think Shaw would also be looking at the possibility of playing in the CL next season too in that scenario.
For 30 million you can have him. How many full backs are worth that in their prime, let alone a player who is largely untested at any real top level and may not yet develop into the player we all hope he does? Crazy money for English talent, see Barkley as well. Shows desperation if you're genuinely spending that on a teenage full back IMO.
Well now Drogs. Theres literally no way you know that. I could list a trillion players who chose another club over the one they support.
As could I, but that's not the main point. We are challenging for the title and CL, with guaranteed CL football. You aren't. You also have David Moyes. I agree with 100 too, no way I'd want us to pay £30m for him.
Explain this apparent 'guaranteed CL football' you claim to have.... Barcelona, real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Man Utd, Liverpool, Ac, Inter, Juventus..... none of these clubs have guaranteed CL football. How come Chelsea do?
You guys need a left back, and more than just the daily mail have said you are interested in Shaw, it is common knowledge. We have got a deal agreed for the player of 30 million, and you guys aren't muscling in on it. A few years ago, this would have never happened, which along with the sale of Mata you guys now need to start balancing the books more rather than just spending
His point is that why are you believing the Daily Mail about you having a deal in place full stop. They're right about this stuff every time, aren't they??
We are still a much bigger club than you, and we have a history of giving young players a chance, something Chelsea and Mourinho do not. Shaw is 18, he doesn't need to be playing CL football next year, he's got plenty of time to do that. It is better for him long term that he comes to us
You mention that it's common knowledge we need a left back, and completely contradict yourself in the post after by saying we wouldn't give a £30m player a chance because he's young? Idiot. Liverpool are also a bigger club, yet Salah still chose us. Funny that isn't it? The kid SUPPORTS Chelsea, take the blinkers off. Course it's better long term, we know what long term means at your club - David Moyes.
I have not said you wouldn't give him a chance, I have just said you don't have a history of giving young players a chance, and developing them into future stars. That is how we've had our success over the years, where as Chelsea and Mourinho have generally bought players already in there prime. Chelsea are obviously doing something wrong, or differently to us with young players, as there are very few that you've had from a young age that have turned into top players
Another panicked attempted purchase by United. No strategy or team building. Why don't you just go and buy another AM like Kroos to make Mata and Kagawa and Fellaini and Rooney even more problematic
Shaw's a good LB, but he's nowhere near exceptional and there's no guarantee he ever will be, so you're still talking about potential as opposed to the finished article. £30m is daft money for him and is just yet another example of young English talent being massively overated and overpriced.
Which implies that you think we wouldn't does it not? We have had countless managers who don't get the chance to develop their own youngsters through the ranks since the arrival of Roman. Why would they give youngsters a chance when their neck is constantly on the line? We also haven't had the quality. The only young player we had who has gone onto become brilliant is Matic, and we now have him back. I think you will start to see players come through now because we have talent in abundance in our academy from what I can see.
Yep and you never gave Matic a chance, and had to fork out 20 million to get him back, once another club gave him the chance of first team football, and made him the player he is today. Though having said that, he's looked good in a few games, but other games he hasn't looked great. I still think the jury's out on him a little, was he really worth paying 20 million to get back?
