http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...arvalho-David-Moyes-summer-shopping-list.html If that's true, It means Evra is off at the end of the season. 30 million is a lot of money but needs must.
all these stories today...either United/Woodward/Moyes are putting amends to the fiasco of last summer, or it's a really slow news day lol
It's all a bit public don't you think. Very unlike United in the past... or at least United pre-Woodward. No sure it's good to be leaking these potential purchases if the rumours are true.
That's true, i think we've signed a couple of players but are waiting until the end of the season to announce it.
A couple... on top of the reported Kroos, Carvalho and Shaw ones??? I'd be surprised. BTW I'll throw this hand grenade in while we're at it - Shaw is not very good defensively, let Chelsea have him. I'd rather we went all out for Coentrao.
We went for him in January but Real put a stop to it #prickteasers My biggest disappointment in January was not going in for Banega who was available. Exactly what we needed in midfield. Another **** up imo.
It would be a good move, although far too pricey. Shaw is a fantastic prospect. But the price is crazy. To compare you could get Coentrao for about £12-15m. We've been linked with Barkley and that's fine, but £38m ... no thanks. British footballing talent is massively overpriced. You need to get them early or forget about it. Once they are first team regulars their price exponentially blows a hole through the roof! Sad, really. Incidently, I'd like Shaw or Coentrao as a LB for us, but perhaps it's not to be? More likely for us to go fort Coentrao, due to his price, but he could equally go to you guys or another team (perhaps Italian!)
30 million is a lot for a full back, but you have to remember how young this kid is. We could get 10-15 years out of him in his prime. Good to see us out muscling the Chavs for a players signature, the days of the chavs out doing us for signings will be coming to an end now that FFP has come in, and they are relying on revenue from there pokey little stadium, and small global fan base, in comparison to us. The sale of Mata to us, said it all about Chelsea's struggle to balance the books, and with a 50 million deal for Costa lined up , they aren't gonna be able to sign to many others without offloading a few
I would be gutted if Coentrao went to Livpl, but as you say the price is right and for the price it's a steal. He's desperate to leave Real as well - or at least he was bcos of WC year.
Yep. Have to say that you may be right about the investment. Look at Rio. Massive investment at the time. But, hard to say (as an LFC fan, less so as a football fan), he blossomed into one of the best PL defenders, and, at one point, was the top CB in the world. Unfortunately, as I like having a visible core of English players in our squad, we probably will go for a cheaper continental equivalent. He's a superb LB, so I understand your sentiment. Great tackler, pace and can cross and score. Complete package really. Surprised there's not more competition for his signature, TBH.
Coentrao is the sort of player that would be good enough for Liverpool, but he's not United class. Shaw is a much better option than him. Shaw when he hits his prime, will be miles ahead of Coentrao, who is nothing more than a bench warmer in Madrid
Bollocks, you were outdone because you didn't want to spend a lot, you could have easily competed with City and Chelsea through all the years of the PL in the transfer market. You didn't because you kept winning.
Sorry guys we dont need to sell and even if Luke wants to leave (not convinced he does) I think he'd pick Chelsea over United.
He's a Chelsea fan though. I think Mourinho would be more persuasive than Moyes much as I rate him as a manager.
