Just a bit late in the day, but hope you have had a good birthday Scully. Back home now and looking forward to getting back to normal, if there is such a thing. Age is not the days that the calendar suggests, but how you feel. Well that is what I am sticking to.
Good morning all from a clear Weston-super-Mare, last day of sunshine for a few days allegedly! Have a good day!
Morning all and thanks for the good wishes and advice. Celebrated my birthday and both of our retirements with a meal at a fairly new local restaurant which was excellent and am still stuffed and a little worse for wear . Shortly after our arrival Happy birthday blared over the speakers and assumed Mrs S had tipped them off but it was for someone else however I stupidly told the waitress that I thought it was for me. Then at the end of the main course they appeared with an indoor firework stuck in a blob of ice cream plus camera and happy birthday chimed up again followed by everyone applauding. moment! But a nice touch. Finishing the Munros is on the bucket list Bolton, need to research how many I have done first though. Lovely last two days but it looks dull this morning. Have been pruning two climbing roses and have been at it for 4 hours already and have done about 2/3rds of it but hey what's the rush
Morning all from a bright but chilly bandit country - looks like some frost out there this morning. I see the tramps finally got promoted after 5 years of playing pub football - oh well, they are still years behind us. Scully - does that mean you started pruning roses at 02.40 in the morning? - after a heavy night, that is some going!

We will have a new political party after Easter. Sjálfstæðir Evrópumenn or the Independent Europeans will be formed to push for ESB membership, if there was an election now this group think they would have over 20% of the votings. I know Ãsland is a small country and we need help at times but for us to join with ESB would make us in a worse seat that when we had Dansh rule. Our fishing would finish as the water would be run over by Portúgal Spánn and other fishermen.
I haven't visited for a while, but thought I would report the hardship I face at work. In the small department I work in there are now only Leicester City and Luton Town fans; last year there was a Palace fan to deal with as well. There was great joy at our failing last year and all three have had success last and this season. Pure Hell. And what is worse Nick Owen, one of the local newsreaders here in the midlands, is chairman of Luton Town so the scum got congatulated here last night on their promotion, because Kidderminster (local team) beat Cambridge.
We are off to Somerset on Friday for the wedding of my fourth daughter on Saturday. So my fourth (and final) Father of the Bride speech is being composed now.
Thanks for the caramel latte Ak, I hope you manage to keep your independence! Where in Somerset are your performing your "Father of the Bride" speech Leo?
I don't know that area either, our local forecast is Thursday and Friday cloudy, with sunshine returning on Saturday! Have a great day and good luck to your daughter!
Evening all, it has been tee shirt and shorts weather here. I could not believe just how much grass can grow in a week. Found some good ales while in England, but some meals eaten out left something to be desired. Some places seem to put quantity ahead of quality. Maybe I have been spoiled over the past few years finding some good places to eat here at reasonable prices. I had a look to see how the stand was progressing today and noticed that the players were training there rather than at the training ground.
Evenin' all...... We are off to tend the vineyard for a couple of weeks on Friday.... I miss loads of game
Evening all Just back from a day in the smoke, taking in the Vikings exhibition at the British Museum. A good job we bought advanced tickets...it was very busy. I'm sure in the three years since we left London has doubled its tourist population.
Fantastic collection of artefacts, Dan, but not particularly well displayed considering the number of visitors. I also thought they were not always placed in context so there was no real narrative running through the exhibition. Jewellery and longship remains were the highlights.
