I think he's a good signing. At 23 million it's a bit steep but it's the price you pay for good strickers. I can't say he's not worth it after he took the piss out of our defence the way he did and after we paid 30 million + for Berba ( who I do like ). At his age I think you got a very good deal
King Eric. However its not all to do with signing players, its more to do with cohesion and good management.Lets be fair Man City have a squad thats light-years ahead of yours, but your squad is better managed than Citys as City are managed by an imbecile. They replaced a moron with an imbecile.Okay Mark Hughes is one of your own but lets be fair,He's a dreadful manager and a complete and utter nitwit. So due to good management and I made this point before that process can be sped up,okay not immediately,as it will take time, but it will be done.
Yes, I have worked for one Academy and one School of Excellence, Coached Teams against Liverpool at Youth Levels, , and Scouted/Match Reported for another Premier League Club(and many moons ago pulled on your famous Red Jersey, but I wasn't nearly good enough) If Suarez had Pace, he would be right up there with the very best, quick feet and sharp finisher, but just like Eduardo found at Arsenal, another Player about was also considerable hype, his lack of Pace meant that he just didn't cut it in the Premier League. He also scored 4 Goals in his first half a Season. And Lucas is bang average, no further explanation necessary.
I think the difference is Fergie and Kenny. Any player that walks into Old Trafford or Anfield is MADE to understand the history of the club and the privilage putting on the shirt for either team. Both teams have a history that can't be matched in England and both teams have managers which bleed United and Liverpool respectively.
No further explanation available, more like. And I like that despite your experience quoted above, you've judged Suarez on half a season. (13 games, as I said) Was Ruud Van Nistelrooy pacey? Was Alan Shearer pacey? Both were considerably slower than Suarez. He doesn't need to sprint 100 yards at a time, just have a turn of pace for 10-15 yards at most to beat a man or two and get a shot in.
van Nistelrooy and Shearer were as good as it gets. Very brave comparing Suarez to either of them, and of course, the Premier League is a very different place since they left, there is an interesting article in 4-4-2 about Pace, try it, it'll demostrate what I mean better than I ever could
Schofield. That reference to ''pace'' has to be the most uneducated comment ever. Pace is not everything. Luis Suarez may not be the quickest, but he's got both the skill and the intelligence to counteract that. One example and KE pointed this out was when he took the piss out of the Man United defence.
I'm comparing them because the point is you don't need pace to bag goals. And he is faster than they were. I wasn't saying he's better than them, at all, so don't try to read it that way.
Schofield has just dug himself a hole he can't get out of.King Eric has cottoned onto this and disagrees completely with him. RVF. He's got some pace, but he hasn't got Torres or Henry pace. However he's got the quickest feet of a striker I've seen in a while. As I said ''pace'' isn't everything. It never stopped Dennis Bergkamp who relied on skill rather than pace.
Sounds like, despite all your blinkered protested of him not knowing anything, David Schofield is a lot more qualified to comment on such matters than most, including yourself.
You've obviously never been a scout as you haven't a ****ing clue about football. Suarez has been great at going past people and creating chances so far, the one thing that's let him down is actually his finishing, so you obviously haven't watched him much if that's the conclusion you've come up with him. And the comparison with Eduardo is far off, the only person in anyway similar to Eduardo in the league currently is Hernandez and he's got the character/mental strength unlike Eduardo. Suarez is actually nothing like Eduardo and it baffles me that you've decided to compare the two, it's like comparing apples and oranges.
Mootpoint. What rock have you crawled out from under, this is an adult discussion and not one that requires mindless drivel.I think someone has left the computer on in the special school and Mootpoint has gained access to it.He should be licking windows and eating crayons.
Did my Badges at Bolton, Scouted and Match Reported for Blackburn, Coached at Stockport School of Excellence and at The Dome for Manchester City. You have my name and all that, if you want to check me out it's not difficult.
I reckon given time Carroll and Suarez can become Liverpools new version of Keegan and Toshack.Suarez the bundle of energy and Carroll the target man thats hard to handle.
