We have our chance to get Arsenal into 4th by beating Everton on the last day. Still many perms left until the end of the season with one or two possibly including relegation. We need 1 or 2 points still to be safe. Let's do it at the weekend
No chance on Sunday. SB MIGHT play Fryatt, Sagbo and Aluko more if we're safe by the time we play Villa, Man U and Everton. But then you run the risk of injury and given that those 3 I've just mentioned are our strikers for the final then he might keep them wrapped in cotton wool.....
Maybe we should use Jelly and Long to take one for the team and soften up the Arsenal players. Wenger teams are prone to a red card. Will players sent off this weekend be suspended for the final?
And Bruce/Faye. Cripple a few key players, leave any Englishmen mind, World Cup and all that. Podolski, Cazorla, Giroud, Ramsey, Arteta, obliterate that lot and we're in a good position. Ozil will be back by the final won't he? Maybe have someone accidentally bump into him somewhere.
Play our strongest team, or should I say the league team. They wont know much about Sagbo and Fryatt so that will keep them on their toes. We need to get a draw at least on Sunday and get them worried.
Arsenal are already ravaged by injuries! Any more injuries and well be playing youth players in our starting 11! No more injuries please!
Spot on Tuckin. For all those reasons we need to put our strongest team out there on Sunday. Use the players and formation that played in the second half at Wembley but with Long and Jelavic up front. Matty and Aluko could come on after 65/70 minutes if necessary. If we win, which is very possible, it will build up enormous confidence for the Final.
There's 4 weeks between the games! What's the point? Anything could happen with injuries to players or players coming back from injury - on both sides. Strongest team everytime for me.
It looks like Aaron Ramsey and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will miss tonight's game due to injury, if they'd like to stay injured until after the weekend, that would be perfectly acceptable.
Beat them on Sunday, will be like a kick in the nads. Beat them at Wembley and it'll be like cutting their head off and ripping their hearts out. I wouldn't actually revel in Wengers sacking but those 2 games could spell the end for him and leave Arsenal a little adrift for a while. Caused by little old us. We should, and I expect we will, be trying to win both games. I don't expect either game to be easy, and I expect to be worried at some points, but, that's all part of the fun as an Ull City fan.
It sounds like a lot of you are assuming that there weren't Arsenal scouts at our game. You're kidding yourself if you think they have no idea about how we play. The whole world will have had access to our game, Arsenal will have had it watched by loads of people. They'll have scouted us in the league too. If anything, our start against Sheffield United will probably spur Arsenal to get stuck into us straight away and we should be using the speed of Sagbo, Elmo and Aluko to catch them on the break.
Everton at home last day could be our "European Cup Final" to go with the real FA Cup final we already have..
Of course they will have a full dossier on City already, including the Cup players - but what the coaches can drum into their players pales into insignificance compared to what those players learn about opponents when actually playing against them.
