Haha I wish I could say that SD but unless we move up in the world I can't see us hanging onto him too long. I love the guy (in footballing terms!), as many will know me and Roo were banging on about Eriksen a good 2 years ago and my opinion of the lad has improved much more since he put on the Lilywhite shirt, I always thought he was destined for greatness and if he keeps on playing like he is, the "big dogs" will be sniffing around a lot sooner than what we'd want.
If we get the right man in, at the start of the Summer and give him a full pre-season with the players, I reckon we'll hold on to every player the manager wants to keep. If we don't get the right man in, or if Sherwoodie stays, it'll be like rats deserting a sinking ship.
I agree. For all the many reasons to moan, get the right man in (and don't sack him at the first sign of trouble), and I really think we'll be very good. I even think we'll have some decent choices. There have to be a number of young managers who think this particular talented but snake-bit team is the perfect opportunity to make a reputation. The problem is our record of picking managers is abysmal, and our record of sticking with them through trouble is worse (though the sackings have looked a lot better considered than the hirings.)
For us to sell Eriksen or for Levy to get the price he has pencilled in, it would take Eriksen to perform at a high level for two seasons before any of the top CL clubs made sizable bids so I'm confident he will be here for a minimum of two years like Berbatov, Modric and Bale and as Etiksen Is still young then we could have him until he's 25.
