It was last Saturday approx. 16:30 the day before the Chelsea game when I was coming back from Mumbles after watching the Mumbles first team lose at Underhill park, I had to drive past the Fairwood training ground to my home on the North Gower road, when Police vehicles descended on the ground from all directions (Killay, Three Crosses, etc), anyway that's what I witnesses with my youngest son.

Apparently Aloevera has stated in one argument that he is too good for this club??......................<laugh>

Did this fight happen the day of the game Phil? Because JackPA posted that Michu left the training ground in a foul mood a few hours before kick off against Chelsea.

Edit. Seen the above post <ok>

"You can thank Laudrup for all this" ?????????????

Why, Dragon? What on earth has Laudrup got to do with this debacle? The man hasn't been with us for months and if you're trying to maintain that it's some sort of legacy, I think you're way off beam, mate.

What we are seeing now is the fall out from the board's stupid decision-making in appointing an UNQUALIFIED, INEXPERIENCED manager, one who commands no respect whatsoever for his track record as a manager and commands no respect for his distinctly average achievements and ability as a player. So he is a long serving player: so f*****g what? Had he been a good enough player to command a higher wage at some other club, he'd have been off like a shot..... like the rest of his breed. Footballers are a mercenary lot and Monk is NO different!! He remained "loyal", and I use that word advisedly, BECAUSE HE HAD NO BETTER OPTIONS.

If loyalty and time served gets you installed as the manager of a Premier League club, I suppose some toilet attendants, tea ladies and match day stewards might well come into contention - bit of a leap, I accept, but my drift should be clear. If there is bad blood between the players, is it not feasible that Monk's sneaky undermining of his managers might not endear him to some of the players, apart from other reasons?

So, just a theory, but if he's unable to command respect as a manager (no experience etc), unable to command respect as a player (nowhere near Premier League standard), unable to command respect as a PERSON (knifing Laudrup and a bit of history with Sousa) then exactly what does he have to offer? Okay, he stands on the touchline and shouts a lot but that wears out after a while and water off a duck's back to many players. It might work for Mourinho or SAF (previously) but they are hugely respected figures with massive characters who demand respect for their achievements.

Much as we have praised Jenkins and the board in the past for their good work, I think it's time to accept that they dropped an almighty one with this whole affair.

Ivor much of what you have posted these last few weeks I am in agreement with, but surely you can see that the state of the dressing room that Laudrup left it in is not Monks fault? there were bust ups when Laudrup was in charge, and it was because of his inept man management that he had to go, Monk is only a stop gap, he will not be appointed full time in my view, he will become an important member of the coaching team though. I really can't understand why people are targeting Monk here, because he was the obvious choice to salvage the season, in the absence of Curt declining the temporary post. Monk is at least trying to rescue the season, and the performances prove that, and I'm sure we will get that one win to keep us up, Monk is far from perfect, and was simply the only available option within the club given the short window to the end of the season...................<ok>

This is true, but the incident was last Saturday, old age doesn't come alone, my mistake not sure what I was rushing back home for? Kick off was 1415 actually on the day, and Mumbles lost 2-6 to Maltsters (Good side). Who's Poirot...............<laugh>

PS: I remember thinking at the time when I passed the ground when all this was going on, that why would there be any players there with a game at the liberty in just under an hour? That's where I got it wrong as I forgot the Swans were playing on Sunday and my boy corrected me, so it's clearly when this event happened that the Mail is reporting, why they have left out the Police involvement might be down to clever management at the club?

Just getting provoked when folks making up their own stories, and start believing them too.
There is enough mud in this whole thing.
Still a good lie could do the trick, but this was 3rd grade level...

Valley I have made corrections to the incident it was the day before the Chelsea game, Saturday 4:30 approx., I wrongly remembered thinking at the time that why would the Police be called to the training ground at Fairwood, when our players would not be there? I forgot we were playing on Sunday and my son corrected me as we were discussing it driving over the common into Three Crosses, clearly our Squad were there training and something kicked off................<ok>

I think you will find that the bust up was on Wednesday as it was their first full training day after the Hull defeat.
