I saw it on a other forum along with us going for Joe Cole a few days ago. We are just a retirement home for useless PL players. This among other things is why Redknapp should be sacked even if we fluke the playoffs.
Load of bollocks. Just the journos starting early and reproducing the names of those we have been linked with in the past (including those linked with us in the journos imagination).
Too right Flyer!!! HR is showing he is a complete dinosaur to football management now! Promotion or not, he has got to go. Does he not see how all the successful teams this year have youth and pace with a bit of experience thrown in not the other way round.
Brilliant, the transfer speculation has started in April, before we know which League we will be playing in and who our manager will be. A couple of season ago I tried to keep a list on here of all the players we were linked with over the summer window. Over a hundred. Even under Hughes we couldn't sign that many, and most of the ones we did sign came with very little fanfare/trailing. We will need a lot of new players this summer unless we offer new contracts/convert loans to a lot of the existing squad. We will see speculation all over the place, as the journos/ wannabe web journos/ gossip mongers know we will have to sign players. All they want to to sell papers, generate web hits, accuracy isn't important as they aren't accountable for anything. Most of it will be bollocks, believe nothing until its confirmed on the offish, and remember Redknapp's modus operandi is talking to journos and giving them a story, he thinks it wins him friends.
Wont matter, we may end up with a transfer embargo and wont be able to sign anyone, it might be a blessing,Harry will leave if he hasn't got zillions to spend,we get a young up and coming manager that will play all the kids, every ones a winner
Nothing surprises me anymore. Harry will want Jimmy Greaves next. he's a "good lad", the "right sort".
Are we seen as the default retirement club for BS media speculation ? We are becoming the Eastbourne of the league.
FFP brings me onto another point, signing frees and then putting them on high wages screws us over, we could have signed loads of Philips and Austin type players this season and the fees wouldnt count, only the wages. Instead I really hope this summers signings don't count towards FFP or we are screwed if we don't go up as we need a whole new squad.
i have a terrible feeling were going to be screwed if we go up or not, the FA might want revenge over the Ali Faulin affair, they never got there pound of flesh
If we go up, we will probably my keep Redknapp and we are even more badly prepared than we were last time. If we don't go up, the good news is hopefully Redknapp will go but we could get screwed by FFP and may not even be able to field a full match day squad if we are to comply as we pay so much wages, hopefully the mbia, Remy and taarabt fees will help. Hopefully FFP will be ruled illegal if we stay down. So either way, we get something great and something terrible.
