Simon Mignolet claims settling in at Sunderland has been a lot easier than he expected. The Belgium international moved to England last June, penning a five-year contract at the Stadium of Light. He admits to having arrived on Wearside a little anxious as to how he would fare in his new surroundings. He need not have worried though, with his ability to find his feet quickly allowing him to become a regular in Steve Bruce's first-team plans last season. Welcomed "Settling in was easy. I spoke a little of the language, which really helped," the 22-year-old goalkeeper told Sunderland's official website. "I am not that far away from Belgium here - only an hour flight - and my family are quickly here too. "I have been made to feel welcome by everyone at the club, from the players to the supporters. "We have a number of foreign players who speak other languages I can speak. Everyone has been very good to me." How many languages does he speak I wonder?
We aren't short of good keepers, that's for certain Just wish we could say the same about our forwards!
Le Mig has done pretty well overall IMO, bearing in mind Gordon is one of the best shot stoppers in the Prem, so comparisons are never going to be easy on him.
gordon better shot stopper mignolet covers the box better mig's quicker at releasing the ball quicker better kicker i think when his confidence gets that more higher he'll become a better shot stopper than gordon. but i dont think westwood would come to us to sit on the bench, so gordon will be going and mig will have to be happy on the bench again :S
