David Schofield again being selective. Jay Spearing is a 22 year old that has just broken into the first team.Compare him to someone of a similar age say Darron Gibson.Now who is the better player?Spearing is,as he's managed to hold down a regular place.Before you say Gibson won a prem medal,He didn't really earn it as most of his appearances were off the bench,similar to Michael Owen.
Carrick has a few appearances at (at the time) mid table clubs West ham and Spurs, before becoming a squad player for Man United. Poulson has a number of appearances in Denmark, Spain, Germany and Italy at top clubs.

He's a decent player but I don't see him in your first team long term.I think Kenny has bigger plans. Thats not to say he won't be around the first team but I think Liverpool will sign better players forcing him down the pecking order.
Well Suarez claims he isn't a squad player ( see above ) and I agree with him. Alot of your points have been correct but Poulsen does not have a better track record than Carrick surely you can see that ( even if you do think Carrick is **** )
I am not selectively answering posts, it's hard to keep up with the volume of 500 word essays on why ~Current Liverpool Player~ is better than.... Joe Cole has pedigree, but has barely played any Football for three years, and sadly, because he has been a terrific Player to watch and seems a decent bloke, it's over for him. Poulsen is a European Jobber, he's ok, but that's about it. Spearing holding down a 1st Team place, as opposed to Gibson being a bit part Player, that says it all.
Suarez outshined most players in the second half of the league, he's not a gamble at all. I said Alonso was inferior to Gerrard, hardly a crime of the century, if you asked Liverpool fans who is the better player then Gerrard would beat Alonso by a country mile. I didn't say that Mascherano was an inferior player individually to Lucas either, I said that Lucas was a better bet for a team that wants to play a high tempo passing game. Lucas is far from being average, you've clearly just been watching Match of the Day and also listening to what the likes of Adrian Durham and Jamie Redknapp say about Lucas instead of watching him yourself. Your opinions on half of our players are stuff you've been spoonfed by Sky and the tabloids.

I would say that this will be the case. He'll be the type of guy that comes in and does a job when we need to rest Gerrard for a more important game and occasionally start in the games that need a bit of fight and determination e.g Merseyside Derbies and Games against the Stokes and Boltons of this world.

You're probably right,Hay Spearing will be a squad player,although a vital one.He could be Liverpools version of Nicky Butt.
Not a rant, but his post was clearly adressed to Scholfield. You can comment on it, but you can't call it 'selective' if it was a specific response.
Suarez is a gamble because he has no pace. He has only scored goals in a league that made Georgios Samaras and Afonso Alves look like the second coming of van Basten and Romario, and outshone very average Liverpool Teammates with his 4 Goals in half a season. At £23M that is a Gamble. Lucas is bang average.
Again though KPR, it wasn't him comparing him to Carrick. Exactly players like Nicky Butt, and what he did for United, should never be dismissed. All successful squads need them. As I stated before I think Liverpool could be building something here and people are taking notice although not worried yet. Let's be honest, if Liverpool can get that act together over the next few years they will be a really force but Kenny is building a squad not a team for short term success. You may have to wait a few years but I'm sure you lot will be challenging again soon. United and Liverpool are the biggest clubs in England and they both go through cycles - you just get the feeling your cycle could be coming back round again soon ( but hopefully not too soon )
You seem to keep sticking to 'Suarez no pace' and 'Lucas bang average'. Do you actually watch any L'pool games or look at any stats?
