I think most are deciding between Pool, City and Chelsea only because they are the only ones who can. Obviously Spurs would be first choice if it were possible. Arsenal and Everton can't win it now.
Assault?! Yeah it was a foul but 'keepers get shoved and jostled loads without any help from the refs. It only became a foul once Carroll's arm connected with Mignolet's arm, a little knock on the head isn't enough. Liverpool fan's should know better, Skrtel's been pushing and pulling players in the box all season, you get more leeway for foul's from setpieces. If we had video refs they'd be pouring over replays trying to work out which player started fouling first I thought the failure to give the Sakho one was the worst decision because it was so blatant and there was no way the ref couldn't have seen it, he had a clear line of sight. Suarez should've been booked for diving but so should about a million other incidents like that this season, cards for diving are down because refs have simply stopped giving them. Infact, Milner should've been booked a few minutes later too although there's no doubt about which had the bigger impact. I don't get all the denying of you guys getting more decisions going in your favour though, you all complained about United's preferential treatment from refs like everyone else. Even then there were still examples of decisions wrongly going against them, they didn't get every single decision. And if it really bothers you then just ignore it. When Fergie retired Sky Sports wouldn't have mentioned United getting the vast majority of dubious refereeing decisions, they just talked about how many trophies he won. History only remembers the winners so enjoy the good fortune, no sense denying it.
The issue with Liverpool winning the league is that their fans are unbearable at the best of times. Them winning the league would make even the most hardened fan pray for a meteor to strike them down. And for anyone who thinks differently, anyone who wants Liverpool to win the league clearly doesn't know a Liverpool fan. I know it's bad to tar fanbases with the same brush, but really, 99% of scouse fans are the same. Once you've met one scouser, you've met them all.
We've had good fortune this season no doubt about YV, but no sense denying we've had game changing decisions go against us also.
Considering everything that is going on currently and the fact your football has been top notch then you could say you deserved the rub of the green agaisnt City but how they never won that game, second half they battered you and you got away with decisions and them missing chances but like I say, you have been positive all season with your football so I guess that means the football gods have decided to be with you this year! It just appears that this is your year after finally saying "Next year" this is the actual year, everything is going your way, even with your defenders scoring own goals you still win games! or every penalty decision goes your way, and yes thats backed up with your great football but some clubs just have a year where they get everything going their way and this is it for you mousers!
It has to be said, though, that 'Pool's position is a false one on account of the greatest fluke ever in world football, that fluke being the fact that so many teams have screwed up this season: Arsenal, £ity, United, us, even Chavs (if they don't beat 'Pool and win the title, which they should). And let's not forget the fact that 'Pool's Yanky owner broke Goofy's contract to ensure that he remained tied to the club. If 'Pool hadn't acted in such an underhand manner and had let Goofy go to Arsenal, as he so desperately wanted, Arsenal would be challenging for the title and 'Pool would be back in 7th or 8th. None of this seems to get a mention in the 'Pool-loving media.
So you'd sooner Arsenal had got Suarez and won the title. Real Spurs fans would have the opposite view I'd have thought.
If we win this year we will do so with a points total of 89 which is more than the average for a pl winner. f**k, United have even won the thing with 75 points before. HIAG, you need to relax a bit more and bask in our warm glow
"HIAG, you need to relax a bit more and bask in our warm glow" The incandescent Mouser rage of the past 4 seasons provided "small club" Spurs 606 with far more heat (we didn't have to spend a penny on our gas/leccy bills) .
Doesn't someone 'mess up' their title challenge every season seeing as there are always 3 or 4 in reasonable contention?
I'm stunned. Listening to you, anyone would think that I am disingenuous. Hell, they might even think that this entire thread has been one extended wum!
Sorry, I've missed the news today. Have Liverpool won the title? Having seen a title lost two years ago with two goals in injury time of the final fixture when your club's game has ended, I wouldn't advise you to count any chickens yet.
