We have 3 Europa League places. One for 5th place, one for FA Cup winners/runners up and one for the League Cup winners. As I understand it the FA Cup is the only one that puts you straight in to the groups so is the highest ranked of the 3 available positions. So if Arsenal win it they will take that spot. If they finish 5th then the league spot will go to the 6th placed team and Man City qualifying for the CL gives the League Cup spot to 7th. All 3 in the Europa League
I am not too sure to be honest. Everton have to play City, but the fact that Everton are in with a shout for the CL means they will give it a go. Everton have looked pretty tidy this season and I can see them getting at least a point. Arsenal have bottled it epic style this last 2 months!!
Arsenal have played utd, Liverpool, city, spurs, Everton, Chelsea, and bayern twice, all in a row during that time with the worst injury list in the league and our 3 most effective players injured. We now play 5 winnable games with Ramsey back in the team and ozil back soon. Everton have played very well recently but in there last fixtures they play both utd and city, plus a difficult away trip to Southampton.
You might have a point to be honest, 3 of your last 4 games are at home against opposition you should roll over. You never know though,
It's looking interesting for both the title and top 4 at the moment, still plenty of twists to come I'm sure!
Noooooooo. That would mean Everton and Hull getting Europa League spots.......although one of Spurs or ManU would then miss out completely although as Liverpool have shown, that might not be a bad thing. Spurs and ManU will both be playing to miss 6th
Those fixtures is why everyone right wrote Arsenal off for the title even when they were top. An entirely false position. As for injuries, it seems to happen to Arsenal every year, why????
I've got no idea. There is obviously something that needs to be addressed. We consistently have the worst injury record for the league. We've had 12+ players out at a time for periods of this season. Last season we had 8 or 9 defenders out at the same time. And we always seem to have a few players who miss the majority of the season. It really is quite ridiculous when compared to other teams. Not sure if it's to do with thetrainingmethods, or the medical staff, or our approach to injuries, or just that we don't notice issues with players when they initially sign. But something needs to be done. Without injuries I'm confident we would still be in the title race.
Who are you pointing this out to? Lol everyone who has posted so far has clearly known this point or none of the replies make sense....
Arsenal need to spend a few years out of CL anyway, hopefully they'll get rid of old man wenger and actually attempt to challenge us in the league...
It is weird how it happens all the time. Wilshire's injury a couple of years ago is kind of a case in point. His return was put back constantly but very little by way of explanation.
OP was clear. then rest of you confused me!! Provided Toffees finish 4th and Goons win FA Cup, who will make to to presitigious Europa League ? The one that got away and we didn't have a chance to defend it rightfully
Did you even read the original post? It does if Arsenal win FA Cup and come 5th and City get CL place.
