Gerrard is only good over the years because he has been playing in a **** team. The sycophantic **** coming out if the press is ****ing nonsense. There must be at least a dozen players better than the ******ed scouser. I do not think he is even the best premiership player to have played for the ******ed scousers.
Only a dozen!?!? You're not the only one to say he's not even the best Liverpool player of the premier league era. I think he is. Who do you reckon is/was better, out of interest?
Hes been the most important. Suarez is the better player for me ( urghhh ). Could easily state Gerrard is though and wouldnt be wrong. Just think his style is suited to the cups rather than the league and when spoken about as PL best..... hes not the same Gerrard as hes been in some of those cup games over the years.
Suarez is a better player, currently at least, but over the whole era then Gerrard is, I think, Liverpool's best player. And I think it's by a mile.
May be the most important for the ******ed scousers but not the best IMO. I can think of at least two: Owen and Torres at their peak of their powers...
I think he's a **** but I know he's a good player, and definitely your best of the last twenty years or so . However, there are a good fifteen to twenty I could name in the PL era who I believe to be better and have achieved way more.
I think at this moment and not looking forward, Gerrard is the greatest nearly man in Premier league history.
We will see in a few weeks. If they win it then fair play. It will be **** for us of course but lets just make sure we congratulate them on it. We are tge classy ones after all. It will be worse for their intolerable fans like astro and Sisu etc if we say job well done and dont let it bother us at all.
Agreed. Although I may have to bite my tongue to avoid pointing out how utterly tainted their title will be after Skrtel's blatant injury time handball yesterday (should've bitten harder ). As for the Fail, gotta love their logic. Gerrard will be the best every PL player because 1. He scored their first goal in the 2005 CL final 2. He played a blinder in the 2006 FA Cup final 3. He gave a nice team talk Says it all that the article says Gerrard would need to win the PL to be considered one of the best, but Zola is included in that list without a PL title to his name
...and if Terry wins it next season at the twilight of his career, he'll be the best ever PL defender. If Rooney wins it in a few years time as he's nearer to retirement, he'll be the best ever player in the PL era. And so it goes on. Big, bold headlines get people reading - for better or worse. What did you expect from the fail? If you made a PL era squad, he'd be in it. If you made a PL era first XI, it's preference.
To be honest I think he'll go down in future as the best player to ever player for Liverpool. I think many think he's currently 2nd behind Kenny, but once he retires and fans look back he will take Kenny's place. Trophy count or not.
Agree. Noone deserves anything. On Gerrard, he's definitely in and around the best PL players. He's been in the top 5 midfielders this season easily and in his prime was bloody brilliant. If he'd gone to say Chelsea he probably would've won much more and scored far more. He's never been on the level of say Ronaldo or Henry but he's one of the best midfielders we've seen in the PL - not his fault his team-mates haven't matched him over the years. Shearer, Henry, Ronaldo, Rooney, Viera, Lampard, Gerrard, Keane etc could all be in that bracket. Suarez too actually.
Probably because Dalglish was brought into the best team in Europe who were already serial winners. And Dalglish only really had five or six good seasons at Liverpool, whereas Gerrard has been consistently good for over a decade whilst playing for serial underachievers. Same reason most Utd fans would have Giggs, Keane and Scholes ahead of Ronaldo in the greatest ever Utd players. Oh, and because of this of course: please log in to view this image
