    Let's look at a hypothetical.

Rangers as they are at present would be no more of a challenge to Celtic in the SPFL than Aberdeen, in fact based upon the abject displays I have seen this season from them, they would be fortunate to finish in the top 6. If that's true (maybe i'm wrong but hey ho, there's no way of knowing) then how would the season be any more interesting because we get to play Rangers 3 or 4 times and all that entails. I personally don't particulary look forward to the next time we meet because there will be trouble. Besides that, we'd be on a hiding to nothing win or lose, hypothetically speaking.

Back in the bad old days we were finishing 4th and 5th in the SPL, that bored me ****less but I don't recall too many Bears lamenting our inability to compete with Rangers. IF Rangers go into Administration again then we may have a longer wait for their return than we expect and there's no point worrying about something that we can't change. As Eric says, that's down to Rangers.

Anyway, I don't think any other club's fans apart from Celtic's are unhappy about Rangers absence, St Johnstone, Aberdeen and Dundee United certainly won't be bothered by Rangers current plight so I don't see why I should be. I miss the Rangers games too, but Rangers caused this.

Will Rangers ever be able to afford to get yo a level where they compete with us though pud? I dont wish admin on them and wouldnt revel in it, but fact is even without ****s bleeding them dry for personal gain they cant generate the income celtic can imo. They havent been able to for years before and ran up debts trying to. Rangers will easily return to be 2nd force in scotland. Their fanbase and ticket sales will ensure that. But wothout a sugar daddy I cant see them becoming competition - unless we lower ourselves to their level as opposed to them rising to ours

They could still win the league with half our budget as long as they have the right man in charge.

    No competition in league

    No proper investment in team

Champions league to make up numbers IF …IF...we qualify

Or Europa league...even less money invested in team

    Yip, sounds great...the way forward.

Dunno... is king serious with his plans? Who knows but I think he might be...

All I'm saying Scottish football is ****ed if every season it's just just a procession of Celtic winning the league

If it's worse than this season in terms of a procession... aye.

Not entertaining at all. Can you honestly say you love watching it...and still will after 6 mire seasons of spanking teams

Can't do anything about it Pud and i'm not going to pine for the return of Rangers, it is what it is. We are big fish in a puddle, we don't have the financial clout of diddy teams in the Championship so we are stuck in a European No Man's Land, massive club, no real competition. It's been going on for years with Celtic and Rangers going toe to toe for the title. When Rangers do get back it won't be any better, competition wise, unless the other SPFL teams get some experience of winning something (Like St Johnstone or Utd and Aberdeen) then they actually having a good chance of beating Rangers when they do return, hopefully in the vacuum left by Rangers other teams will get better and that has to be good.

At the present, football wise,we are a good two to three years ahead of Rangers, financially, probably 5 years ahead, so we can probably expect more of the same for a couple of years at least so i'm trying to focus on the positives of the SPFL, some decent young players coming through all over the place, and real competition for 2nd place and the playoffs, I actually think it's been a decent enough season.

I'm not pining for rangers but Celtic will suffer long term if there is no competition...

The crowds this season for next few seasons...****ed

My overall message is Scottish football needs change.

I'd like to see play offs for the other European places as well as relegation...

Who knows what the answer is...not me anyway.

It does but i'll be ****ed if I know what the answer is, perhaps the new British League cup is the answer? Read a post today about the debt in the Championship down south and it looks as if they are in big trouble, TV needs a new competition to excite fans, maybe that's the answer?

What's been proposed is normal league cups in England and Scotland until the semis, then the last 4 from each country play.

Crowds are down due to Scottish football being too expensive. Rangers crowds have shown that a season ticket should be about £300.

Of all the conversations I've heard about fans not going to games they weren't to do with lack of competition

As has been said before by others on here, the support has been dropping for years, even before Rangers death

I don't miss Rangers, I miss goal scoring heroes and exciting wingers..and also following the career of a youth player who is trusted to play a series of games...and playing with style...

    I miss Tommy Burns
