<peacedove>JORDAN Henderson is going to miss the following games, only available for our last game at home to Newcastle.
He has been our engine in the midfield for some time.
Who can perform the job satisfactorily?

    1. Lucas?.
    2. Allen?.
    3.Someone else?.

    Lucas/Allen, depending on the opposition.

    Two things:

    1. Depends on whether Sturridge is fit or not.
    2. Moses/Aspas should be nowhere near the first team.

Now, supposing Studge is not fit, we go to Norwich as a diamond with Allen. Lucas in for Henderson. Sterling for Sturridge.

livtor prob as it right. if sturridge is out do we go for moses up front or do we trust in reliable player like lucas. i am assuming allen is in for hendo so all i think we do is look back to stuuridge's last injury in december for the answer.

    lfc 5 norwich 1....4th december

    mingolet
    johnson skertl agger flanagan
    allen gerrard henderson
    coutinho suarez sterling

i think this answers the question... henderson for x... surely its lucas or amazingly alberto if something mad occurs.

aspas could come in and coutinho play deeper.... or moses... but would you???

I doubt Rodgers will see it as a like-for-like substitution...

You don't remove Hendo and add Allen- there is more to it than that... but I think Allen is what is needed most- someone who is good defensively and getting up the field. Someone with a good work rate. I think it's essential Coutinho starts too since he is the one most similar to Hendo in work rate- if in a different part of midfield.

If this is a case of Sterling or Coutinho- then Hendo being out favours Coutinho because- whereas Sterling will push forwards in attack relentlessly- Coutinho is better at doggedly trying to win the ball from the opposition.

    but who replaces sturridge.

for me if sturridge is ok then its really simple but to replace him means system change we need sterling not behind two but getting beyond 1 striker to provide that attacking pressure.

i don't think it'll be a diamond without sturridge but we will see

If Studge is out then I suspect:

    -------Suarez
    Cout ------- Raheem
    ------- Allen
    ---Lucas- Gerrard

On the 66th minute Snodgrass will approach ref all puzzled "Ref, have you seen my shoe?"

    Allen for Norwich
    Lucas for Chelsea
    Allen for Crystal Palace
    Henderson for Newcastle

  14. I think Lucas should as he's the closest player we have to Henderson; he can tackle, pass and run a lot. However, Brod will play Allen who is a world class harasser!

I'd expect the double pivot would not be employed at the outset but that we could see Gerrard advanced to box to box for first half hour v Norwich....

However.... Rodgers could simply drop in Allen and surprise us by replacing sturridge with an attacker rather than cm

Will he stick with brave positivity or go with what worked in December where Suarez got potm with lots of goals.... I can see either working

I think Norwich will not grow thier grass and cheat but will try to play the game so I am thinking right now a miraculous sighting of the lesser spotted aspas is not entirely a stupid thing to say

I find it amazing to even contemplated but anything is possible

Gerrard, Lucas, and Allen to harass all and sundry!

  17. If Studge is out of the equation then that's what I expect. If Studge is fit then Brod has a decision to make come the Chelsea game as I think SAS, Sterling and Coutinho will be too much.

Let's be fair, that three would probably give our back four a bit more protection for sure. I can't imagine the likes of Norwich, Chelsea, or CP to sit back. Newcastle who knows, they are in that mid-table wonderland.

  19. I'd expect Norwich, Palace and Newcastle to attack more which is why I would play those four, let them exploit the space. Chelsea will be structured so we need to be more organised ourselves too. Play the three you said and let the three up top work their magic.
