You could be right Kiwi, & I certainly agree the quality needs to go up. The problem is, the job Brown and to a lesser extent Toge do - breaking up attacks, passing on to the glamour boys to get all the glory - is not the most glamorous job, but without their input, we'd be stuffed every week. Would be interesting to know the scores against total when Brown has started compared to the scores against total when he han't. On iffy chairmen, Riddycule has to be top of the pile, as without him, we'd never have slipped to L1 and had to sell off our talent in the firesale. We'd also never have had Krasner, Bates, or anyone else.
Ridsdale had a dream, sure it turned into a nightmare, but he had best intentions for us and the club, whereas Bates didn't give a crap about us or the club
Trouble is Elland, without Ridsdale's head being in cloud cookoo land, Bates would never have come anywhere near us. He just spent his time stabilising the club from a financial perspective. That he concentrated on building the club/ground rather than the team wass to his detriment. That he sold out to GFH who were, as we now know, useless, is just irritating. At least now, we have someone who knows something about football and controlling a club. So let's MOT to what could be a successful 2014/15, or at least, markedly better than it has been for the last few years.
Ridsdale should never have been given the job tbh had no idea about running a business never mind a football club
Risdale took you to the brink of extinction, and whether you like it or not, Bates was the only one prepared to rescue you - for that you will be forever indebted to him
For me its BATES by a country mile.I met Peter when I lived in Mallorca as it was easy for me to fly to Barcelona Madrid and Valencia and he was always very friendly towards me spending a great deal of time discussing the club. He was a graet fan and I think that was his demise BATES on the otherhand was just forf robbing the fans anyway he could so we are now a basket case
60 ... I met Ridsdale a few times as well when hosting clients at our corporate setup in the West Stand ... he just came across as me, me, me ... yes, he seemed to love the football and involvement, but he was always elbowing garnnies and kids out of the way the moment a camera came anywhere near him ... I remember when he came into our section at White Hart Lane for George Graham's last game in charge to "calm the fans down" ... calm down? We weren't getting violent or anything, but it was great PR for him to be seen climbing over the barriers to address the supporters!! Nope, he was awful, and buying players on long term lease contracts was just insane, it was never going to work ... the man is a charlatan, cheated on his first wife with his secretary who he then married ... then cheated on her with his new secretary who he then in turn married ... says a lot, a man whose ego has no boundaries, and who after all the trouble he caused at Leeds was still allowed to continue in football at Plymouth and Cardiff ... so much for fit and proper rules!
Although how many of us were complaining at the time. The whole board were making decisions, but he got hung out to dry DOL has to hold his hands up too. Ridsdales book paints a believable but dishonest picture of DOL

viv charleston ‏@yoda_180 Apr 13 Reading Daniel Bentley 'keeper from Southend Utd aged 20 linked with Leeds. Highly rated. 6ft 4ins. Anyone got any info?.
We had another highly rate player from Southend recently. He didn't last long. If we get this guy, let's hope he's an improvement. Still reckon 20's a bit young for us as a goalkeeper. But time will tell.
Haha! Naughty. Positive there's nothing in it. I'm sure I read in one of the papers that BM said his daughter had been badgering him to wear a trackie & he finally gave in.
He is hardly going to say he was told he had to is he? He was told he had to. It was in a Cellino interview on Friday that he manages the club, and the coach wears a trackie. BM wants out but wants his contract paying up, so can't give any reason to put that in jeopardy by getting sacked under disciplinary processes.
