You have raised some issues that are obviously there, things clearly are not right this season, and I'm sure the board will re-address the balance, though they are ominously quiet since Laudrup's departure?

They've not been right prior to Laudrup's departure if the rumours are to be believed and now it seems like it's the night of the long knives when it appears that certain players who are associated with Laudrup appear to be persona non grata , worrying if it is true and we now have to resort to U21's and loanees to get us out of the situation we find ourselves in .

Puzzles upon riddles upon conjecture. Something is going on that's for sure and I don't think it's anything good. I'm not resurrecting the Laudrup debate but it's looking more and more like that decision and the subsequent fallout, was one of the worst that this board has ever made. Actually, for the good of our club, I'm hoping that I'm totally wrong.

What should have been the greatest , possibly , season in Swanses history was relegated to backstabbing and personal in fighting for the sake of anything but the game of football , amongst the people running the club. When you look up "amateur " in the dictionary , it will say the 2nd half of our 2013 - 2014 season
, laughable if your not a Swan fan really .

Well the sensible people knew it was a calamity from day 1 and i think that means the majority of Swans fans , Monk should never have been put in charge, especially as he was part of the problem not the cure .
its been clear for a while there were senior players bending the ear of board members and judgement has been clouded because of it , having an agenda tht meant not buying into anything other than Brenden rodgers style of management is not the way forward for us a club or when trying to recruit the next manager, people within the game talk and the the word will be out about how parochial a club we have become.

To put it bluntly, some of the senior players are running the club and the board are IMO getting influenced by their own acheivments over the years and getting blinded by what they are being told from the dressing room to mae one big sorry mess, we look a laughing stock if truth be told .

Nobody is perfect though ,not Laudrup, not Huw,not the board ,not some of the senior players .

The only people that will suffer in the battle of the ego's are the fans and its our club as much as anyones.

In the last 4,5 yrs we have had the training ground issues with Sousa and how the players thought fitness wasnt good enough etc,he walked before he was getting sacked.
We had the bust up on the USA tour, yet again players not happy with training methods and Laudrups approach,he stayed though and we had our best season in 100yrs some of the senior players shut the fook up and also looked stupid, especially when picking up their winners medels and throwing the manager they wanted out up in the air .

It all came to a head once again after we lost to cardiff away, same ****e once again, players arnt happy with what was being done, the end game began and Laudurp was going to get constructively dismissed.

A common thread here ,senior players thinking they know best and board members signing players and thinking they are the manager of the team.

I honestly think as a club we are in free fall because of how we have done things behind the scenes, once the playing staff start thinking they have the chairmans ear at all times things will go wrong .

Its not rocket science why Laudrup quietly moved on Tate,Gower and DG while Ash was offered around last summer and Monk told it was time to move on also, apart from the obvious reasons of ability it was also because these guys had too much influence off the field and implimenting and evolving our style was going to be much harder with some of these boys on the training ground, especially if some senior pro's were being pushed out of the keep ball do nothing with it style of play that served us well for half a season under rodgers in the prem league.

We are told that our club let the manager manage, thats just not true anymore , there has been far too much interfierence from above and it was always going to end in tears with an astute guy like Laudrup becoming apathetic and alienated .

Like i said, everyone is guilty here and the fans suffer for it! what should have been the most exciting season in the clubs History was doomed to failiure back in April/May the club could have paid laudrup off then if they wanted, they decided against it but then decided to not back him 100% what a calamity !

I dont blame Monk for his shortcomings and being totally out of his depth as a manager but its a case of be careful what you wish for, because they pulled Martinez and put him in charge of a L1 club with one of the highest playing budgets paying some of the biggest wages , for some weird reason they thought they could try and be clever and do the same with Monk, a decision based on total arrogance by our board and a decision that may well get us relegated .

I really hope everyone behind the scenes has realised the magnitude of the fook ups made and with a massive amount of luck we will fluke safety and learn the lessons of trying to be too clever when in fact not having a clue.

RE the Spanish lads,i will here more of all this when i return home next week but looking at our bench and seeing canas not injured but in the stands tells us a hell of a lot, seeing emnes and n'gog ahead of Poz tells us alot and the return of Michu's injury going from starting to not even on the bench also tells us alot !

Considering Monk has been an absolute disaster as manager dont be suprised that the transfer requests are piling up in the chairmans office, the first one out the door will probably be Bony, who looks destined for a club with ambition not a club that still operates at L1 level.

I prey for 2 wins and a big clearing of ego's in the summer ,its our club too and its so painful to see us shoot ourselves in the foot this way.

Sorry for my ramble folks !<cheers>

Responded to this as Norway's excellent 'ramble' would take up too much space.

Excellent ramble, Norway, and not far from the truth is my guess. We seem to be in free-fall, run by a board who served us well in the lower reaches but totally out of their depth at this level. They listened to a bunch of self-serving agitators and are now reaping what they've sown.

We were a world wide respected club under Laudrup, now we are a laughing stock because small minded men tried playing at big business and took advice from people with their own loaded agendas. I don't know what the next few weeks will bring but I've got a horrible feeling that we are going to witness havoc at the end of the season whether we stay up or not. Of course, I have no way of knowing this but, somehow, I sense it. I really, really, hope I'm wrong.

Think we're all singing from the same hymnsheet and I thought Norway's ramble was hugely enjoyable and accurate but roof's comment hit the nail for me.

"When you look up "amateur " in the dictionary , it will say the 2nd half of our 2013 - 2014 season"

We do look amateurish and parochial. Inward looking when we should be strutting our stuff on a world satge and proud of it. Whether we stay up or not the Manager next season deoesn't have to be a big name though that helps to bring in players, but he has to be a strong character who will pick players on ability and not on where they come from.

It's been said that Monk's strength is that he knows the Club inside out and imo that's half the problem. He's not detached enough from the personalities on and off the pitch so as to be objective, a crucial attrbute in a Manager where sentiment and favouritism is a real no-no.

If the Board have an ounce of sense Monk will be given a junior coaching role next season and we start recruiting the day after our last game if not before.

So far from the truth its unbelievable that so much rubbish can come out of a single persons mouth <ok> the players paint a much different story and i know who i and any sensible fan would listen too <laugh> I cant believe any fan would take the view of a fan who don't go to matches and has not inside knowledge against any number of players who have appeared in newspapers and magazines stating the total opposite..<laugh> Its a good read though and made me chuckle at the inaccuracies throughout...<laugh>

<laugh> jobs for the boys my arse...Dont any of you take any interest in the swans or what...Or do you listen to fans views that are so far from the reality it's a joke... Listen to the club and the players if you want to be accurate and stop thinking you know what is going on when clearly you dont. Its not hard and it will stop you making fools of yourselves with all this made up rubbish with no source to back your claims up....

If we had the opportunity to hear the full reasons why Laudrup was sacked from an official club statement, we might be able to put the Laudrup sacking saga behind us. Unfortunately until then, the fires will keep on raging, and questions will be rightly asked.

Agree with Norway and Ivor here. Something is not right within the club and I see a mass exodus as well. I just pray it's not Bony.

Bony staying depends on any serious offers coming in at the end of the season, unless we get a new manager in before he goes to the World Cup.
If he has a good World Cup he'll be gone :emoticon-0107-sweat
