Altidore is currently 500/1 to grab the title

So worth a couple of quid ? what do ya reckon <laugh>
aha.JPG - his tally goals for the US

If Klinsmann selects him it'd fooking ironic that he scores a hatful for the Yanks

Won't be laying my bets till much closer to the time. If he's fit and I like the price it's where my money would go.

On paper Messi should get about 17 vs Iran, that should secure the golden boot. That's if he turns up.

Fancy Higuain & Benzema to be in the goals personally.

Both backed by insanely good midfields, both master finishers.

Obviously, this depends on the frogs not kicking **** out of each other instead of playing.

Huntelaar could do well as well, long injury means he'll go in fresh.

Nah, the last couple of seasons he'd done ok but by his own standards he's been fairly poor overall.

Yeah I fancy Benzema to do well, he'll get the supply it's just a case of whether France implode again, like you say.

    Can't see past a Lens-Van Persie-Robben forward 3 for the Dutch though.

Could be that this is Messi's tourney, for the first time they have the balance with him and Di Maria, and he has a lot more freedom.

That said, he's been nowhere near his top level since that injury, and it could be that a World Cup is the last thing he needs this summer.

Yeah, it depends how they set up, for all that RVP is, I never see him as a great tournament player, with Strootman being out it could be that they drop RVP deeper and use Huntelaar, they've lost the box to box man so they are possibly going to have to look at a less fluid CM with a holding element and an attacking element.

Lens could be stand out, **** does he like to run that lad.

Robben operates in a space where RVP likes to work, who do you drop? You can't drop either so one of their games is going to suffer. That Jordy Clasie will probably start alongside Sneijder and one of Schaars or VDV. With that 3 in midfield in front of a defence I really don't rate, I'd imagine they won't have much chance of winning it but we might see some ridiculous attacking play.

I'm not sure VDV is a shoe in now, he's had a tough season, and he's seriously lost pace, not that he was ever quick.

I really like Siem de Jong at Ajax, he's usually a bit more advanced but I reckon he could be used with Clasie, who's a bit lightweight to be expected to cover the whole defensive area alone.

Oh how I wish England had these kind of options and decisions mate.

Yeah, do you reckon there's any Dutch fans on some forum debating the great attacking options England have got?

Might have to revert back to my teenage years and stick my Brazil top on when England get ditched, I'll see if my one from '94 is still in the attic at my parents house, with Bebeto on the back, think it was a fake to be fair. Probably wouldn't get my arm in it nowadays but skin tight is all the rage now apparently!
