You clearly don't understand football at all. Southampton should have won the game easily with the quality and possession they had, but if quality and possession statistics were the only factors that decide results, then Swansea should be top 6 by now, not struggling. "All over like a rash" means nothing as you've unfortunately found out against a number of sides this season in games you should have won. "Deserving to win it" is a matter of opinion, and it was the commitment of Cardiff, though demonstrably lacking the cohesion of Southampton side, that did it. As far as who is going down, it was only a couple of weeks back that you were spouting that "Cardiff and Fulham have gone" - now apparently, it's Cardiff and Sunderland who've gone. Things can change, but not as often as your mind appears to. We're still well up on the favourite's list for that "honour". A single surprise Norwich win amongst their last four tough games could be enough for them to escape, but that'll be a tough call. Fulham have had a liitle purple patch recently, but I can see that coming to an end against Spurs this weekend. Sunderland have a hell of a lot to do. I'll go for Sunderland, Fulham, and one from Cardiff, Norwich, Brom or even you. If you get beat at Newcastle next weekend, a home win against Villa will be vital. You may even need to beat Sunderland on that last day to stay up. Just another opinion guys on a fascinating end of season coming up.
who have you been watching barry town perhaps as you have certainly not watched cardiff this season. Its says it all that your keeper has been your star player all season and you have still conceded a shed full of goals.. cardiff have been the worst team for a good while in the premiership and a level far to high for most of your players and deserve to go down so that better teams like Leicester can make a better effort like the two that came up with you last season have..
I'd love to have Marshall here. Fabulous keeper who has kept his team in the fight. If "commitment" means backs-to-the-wall and hardly being able to string a couple of passes together then they were commited. My mate is a Cardiff fan and reckons they were really bad but he was of course delighted with the result. So I don't think it was the "commitment" of Cardiff that won them that game though I admit I didn't watch it. I've read some reports on the game and most of them reckon Cardiff were poor. By all accounts they kept passing the ball back to Saints players and waited for the next attack. Their goal was well taken but as others have said Saints couldn't put the ball in the net and in that sense they did remind me of the Swans as oldsparkey said. Whereas we are right in the doo-doo I think we've been playing pretty well by and large. I'm sure Cardiff fans will take playing poorly but winning though it's unlikely that can get you out of trouble imo. If you take Palace for example, Pulis has not had his team playing poorly but winning matches. They've upped their game. I don't see that with Cardiff.

Actually,Dai, no teams have as yet cemented their place back in The Championship. Not so long ago Crystal Palace were written off. Where are they now? Looking comfortably down on Swansea City and a few others. Cardiff's win at Southampton has thrown a spanner in the works,and put some pressure on teams around them,one of whom being Swansea City. There are enough points still available for a complete change at the bottom to take place.
The much maligned Tony Pulis has astounded most people by transforming Palace,and deserves all the plaudits he is getting.
I do think we played in a way at Southampton that it's fair to judge as "poor". Nevertheless, being pretty does not necessarily win games, and we did what we needed to do. Unlike you Dragon, I did watch it streamed and I doubt any Cardiff fan will have enjoyed anything about it other than the result - the one thing that mattered. We are well below par at the moment regarding the standard rquired to stay in the Prem. In fact, I would readily admit that the Swans are head and shoulders well in advance of us on that score..............but there are only 4 points between us. That tells it's own story.

Well you're right. On what I see every week we should be comfortably mid table. All pretty pretty but the final ball is usually rubbish. You can practically hear Bony saying "WTF??"
If any team is in a false position then its us, we should be 10 - 12 points further up the table if we had better finishing, The execution is great and better than some of the top teams but our finishing and vorms performances this season has let us down...
What a load of bull. Bony is as wasteful as any of our previous strikers. Our major problem has been :- a) Lapses in defence beyond the usual (attack doing its job and outdoing the defence) - Mr A Williams in particular b) Not having a goalkeeper worth the name c) Sacking our manager in a fit of pique d) Board bringing in 4th rate players e) Injuries f) Over reliance on JdG, Jonjo and Pablo in the early part of the season On the earlier post about playing poorly v Soton???????????? Hammered them and pretty much lost to break aways. As they did against Cardiff on Saturday. No team in this league few teams can break down a brick wall defence.
We are where we are on merit,or rather, lack of it. Should the drop be avoided, then a complete overhaul needs to be undertaken for next season, with regards the playing staff and the way we play. First priority should be the installation of a new Manager.
Change the way we play and we'd need to change the entire squad which has been built to play the way we do.
