Its gonna be tough for you guys, not being funny but 3 of fulhams will be against sides on the beach. The main thing for you is to avoid maulings against citeh and saurez, because goal difference at the moment is like an extra point for you guys.
Not involved? Last year we nearly got relegated...although plenty will tell we you soared to an 11th place finish. Dwf. The warning signs were always there. Absolutely gutted today. Worse than yesterday. Can't bring myself to look a back page. All so avoidable.
Last year I was sure we were not going to be relegated though at this stage. We would of been extremely unlucky. The warning signs were there though. This season is like last season, just without the 10 game unbeaten run. And we are even worse in front of goal this season. We can't hit a barn door with a banjo. I have never seen a norwich side that are so useless in front of goal. They talk about a false number 9 and all that, ours might as well be sitting in a pub somewhere.
I know on paper it looks like we're doomed but as the old cliche states, "football isn't played on paper". We are now entering the 'silly' part of the season where 'silly' results will be a plenty. Let's face it, at the end of last term who would have thought that Norwich (and a 'Hughton' Norwich side to boot), would have gone to the Etihad and won ? There will be many twists and turns and I've got a feeling that the final relegation spot won't be filled until the last kick on the final Sunday. We mustn't give up hope, if we need to beat Arsenal on the final day we are quiet capable of doing so IMO, not saying we will, but it is quite possible. With regard to the state we now find ourselves in McNally cannot be totally exonerated here, he should have kicked Hughton out of Carrow Road months' ago, if it wasn't for that 10 game unbeaten ''blip' he probably would have. Keep the faith lads, think positive and get behind 'our Neyul' OTBC ....CT-WE- ....I-NEYUL-WT P.S. In answer to the Op's opening question; please log in to view this image
It looks certain now that we will be relegated and in my view not enough was done in January to prevent this outcome. So who will leave before August kick-off in Championship? IMO the following: Ruddy, Fer, RvW, Hooper, Snodgrass and Redmond. Becchio might just get a start in the Championship and could prove very useful. Best chances of a result from now on Arsenal at home and Man Utd away. I might be clutching at straws?
Well, 2 0-0's would mean Fulham having to win 2 games, or only lose one, to beat us. Perhaps we should do what Hughton always threatened to do and just play every defender we have.
Redmond's too raw to be playing regularly in the Premier League, so I could see him staying with us for a season, improving in the championship, then either leaving next summer, or getting promoted with us.
I can't believe this is happening to be honest. On paper we have the strongest squad I can remember us having for years, but it's just not happened for us this season.
Just as an aside does anyone remember watching that amazing league game between Norwich and Liverpool in 1980 and that truly amazing goal from Justin? I must admit that at the time I had a grudging admiration for him I thought he was a superb player.
In my opinion the following will go Ruddy to premier league club (£7million) Fer to Italy, (3 million) Snodgrass to Celtic( 3 million) ,RvW to Dutch league 2 ( although who will pay. We will lose shed loads on him) . So income around 10-12million. Others gone, Yobo, Elmander, Pilkington, Hoolahan and probably Bassong/Whitaker/Garrido/Surman. Not sure about Tettey. (Reduce salaries and maybe 2/3 million) So overall say a total of 15 million from transfers. Plus 62million ish from Prem. Complete overhaul required Basic team left Bunn ( will need another keeper) R. Martin, Turner, R. Bennet, Olssen ( think he will stay) Need cover in all areas B. Johnson (sadly) need another IMO possible that Tettey will stay I suppose . Fantastic Mr Fox? E.Bennet( good), Redmond (good) Murphys as back up Howson ( make captain) Hooper ( see Olssen) Becchio ( proven at Championship level) So need a keeper, full defence, defensive and attacking midfielders and two strikers, preferably some who can win balks in the air and bring I there's in play a la Holty Oh we must take on an experienced manager. Have no idea on who but will probably be Malkay or Sherwood, possibly Phelan. Adams to be involved somewhere but please not full time. It will be a money thing if he does. If we do by some miracle survive, then Lennon will provably come in. All speculation I suppose.
