Great win today. But two key negatives came from the game.

Henderson was sent off and will miss the next three games.

Sturridge came off injured and we are yet to recieve news on how long he will be out.

So that's two major players possible out of the next game. Players wwho play keys in our shape.

    So what should we do?

    The back 6 picks itself:

    -----------Mignolet-----------
    Johnson-Skrtel-Sakho-Flanagan
    -----------Gerrard------------

    But what goes in front?

    What we do know:
-Suarez will be the main striker
    -Coutinho and Sterling will start

We did fine with out Sturridge whilst he was injured before. But Henderson is the engine of our midfield.

The two obvious options I see are:

    -------------Gerrard--------------
    -------Lucas--------Allen---------
    ---Sterling-------------Coutinho--
    -------------Suarez--------------

We need to keep our strong attack, with pace and skill. We have Aspas and Moses, but they have not played much for a reason. So I have moved Coutinho forward.

    -----------Gerrard-----------
    -------Lucas-----Coutinho----
    ----Moses--Suarez--Sterling--

I feel a Allen Coutinho pairing could be a bit to wild so I have gone for a Brazilian instead. A good balance of steal and creativity. Maybe we could be trusting and give one of Aspas and Moses a go.

    Less obvious more daring options:

    -----------Gerrard-----------
    ------Lucas-------Coutinho---
    ---Sterling------------Texeira-
    ------------Suarez------------

Texeira did well in his cameo v Fulham so why not give him a good? We could even be daring and play him central so that he can pick out forward runs by Sterling and Suarez.

Sturridge has been average in the last 2 games so I'm not worried

Think the first option would be the one. Can't see us trusting Moses and def not Aspas.
The players who have contributed will get the nod. But think Sturridge will likely be ok. No fuss was made after...maybe he came off because he was playing **** <laugh>

We don't know if the extent of Sturridge's injury, could been a twinge or knock.

Hendo- straight swap with either Allen or Lucas

It's as simple as this midfield will be Gerrard Allen coutinho I have no doubt about it. Sterling and Suarez are shoe ins so it's purely down to if sturridge is fit or not

If not? Moses or aspas.... Or teix

I think lucas should play, simply because we will need him vs chelsea and he should get 90 mins under his belt beforehand

  8. I agree with this. Earlier in the season I would have said he still needed to play despite being off form just so the opppsition had someone other than Suarez to worry about. Not now, Sterling and Coutinho might not be as prolific but they are just as dangerous and offer the opposition just as many problems.

IMO, it will be Lucas and Allen coming in. Either Sterling up front leaving Coutinho at the point or both playing either side of Suarez.

No Moses anywhere near the starting 11..
I'd keep it simple and go from the Diamond to a 4-3-3

    ----------------- Ming
    Johnson - Skrtel - Sahko - Flanno
    ---------------Gerrard
    ------- Lucas ------ Allen
    -- Ford ---- Suarez --- Sterling

That's the team I'd play against Norwich if Sturridge isn't fit.
Hopefully, worst case scenario is he's back for the Chelsea game.

My feeling was that Sturridge was taken off as a precaution, whatever injury he has must have been from when he fell in the box between the Citeh defender and crashed into Hart, he was off pretty much straight after, hopefully it's just really minor and Rodgers is man-managing, can't remember if we were leading when he took him off?

Agree on Lucas/Allen, seem to be the best options out of not many!

    No brainer:

1- diamond formation, as it is an away game (With Allen)
    2- Sterling for Studge
    3- Lucas for Hendo

    ------Gerrard------
    --Lucas-------Allen
    -------Couts------
    --Sterling--Suarez
