And on the subject of obnoxious ones, I wonder what revelations tomorrow will bring for the Weeds after today's shenanigans... http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11715/9260689?
So the Bedford lot had hyped up their game at home to Braintree today as the day the right the wrongs and set history straight. The doghouse was packed with a 'massive' 10,000 (and they have 4 stands!) expectant fans and BBC 3CR had been playing songs of winning, returning home and being champions. So I bet there was a lot of furious fans when they lost 2-3 to 10man Braintree!! Alex Jakubiak came on as a sub on 83mins.
For most of the morning show today it did become Luton Radio. They have always shown a bias towards them cos they broadcast from there.
Driving home from games they always feature more L***n that Watford, so much so I don't bother listening anymore.
A couple of cracking games today for a neutral. Hope Liverpool and Hull win the League/FA Cup. Shame Luton will still go up but it was funny seeing them lose.
If Liverpool win the league it will completely ruin my year. The sycophancy in the media in the run up to the game was cringeworthy and it's only going to get a whole lot worse as they edge closer. And the idea of Brendan Rodgers having any meaningful success makes me want to weep.
I think it will be fantastic if Liverpool win the league. The alternatives are the bought teams of Man City or Chelsea - I would like to see them both in the Conference. Brendan Rodgers was a good manager for us and we all knew that - that is why people got so ridiculously over the top when he left - if we did not rate him we would not have cared. His "sin" ? To make a stupid statement about questioning his integrity. As if anyone involved in football has much integrity. Brendan left to go to a previous club as he thought it a step up - he paid the price within months. He has since apologized to us. Malky did exactly the same - he took a new contract to boost his marketability implying he would stay with Watford and left a month later leaving us high and dry. Oh - but most fans forgave him that. Come on Liverpool - best and most exciting team in the league this year by a mile
Still making posts I don't agree with but backed up with evidence and logic so that if anyone disputes them they just look bitter Welcome back - and yep, I'll just have to concede to being bitter
I'm still making posts that I believe in - and have consistently been a supporter of Brendan since he went. I have never agreed that his stupid "integrity" comment deserved the acrimony most Hornets gave him. I voice an opinion - others voice theirs - try to stop seeing things that I post as anything more than that. Sometimes I am right sometimes I am wrong. Same for all of us. It is not all about you Dan. I suspect most Hornets fans will agree with you - but I don't mind if I am even in a minority of one - oh and I don't like the billionnaire clubs either - never have and never will - they have helped ruin the Premier League. It is good to see a team respond to an excellent manager.
Apologies Leo - it genuinely wasn't meant in the way you think it was and more a poor attempt at humour and welcome back etc. I meant that sometimes i see posts of yours where I don't agree with (in this case it's a blind hatred of Liverpool...) but am pretty much unable to dispute most of it as there's usually a fair amount of foundation there. It was kind of meant as a compliment. As for the view on here, I suspect you may not actually be in the minority because, as you say, they play the best football and I think people are sick of City and Chelsea buying up everything in sight.
My son supports Liverpool, I used to live there, and in the old days they played great football...... so I am glad to see them back ( of course I cant stand Brendan personally).... I really hope they win the league this season
I too hope Liverpool win the league, with City second - can Everton still catch Chelsea for third ? Sorry but I wouldn't even wish Chelsea on the conference. The same thing goes for the Champions league - I want them out as soon as possible because the thought of their fans parading around any more European cities disgracing my country with their Nazi salutes makes me sick. All of the fans in England observed the silence for the victims of Hilsborough apart from those of Chelsea, and this is no new phenomena for those that remember the National Front's favourite club of the 70's and 80's. Add to that a bought team, without even the traditions of Man City, the sorts of non football that moaning Maureen has them playing. A team which has to resort to time wasting against the ten men of Swansea because - only the result counts. I pray that the reds murder them.
I am torn whether I want City or Liverpool to win the league... just as long as it isn't Chelsea. Just can't stand Mourinho, and some of their fans! My boss is a City fan and he was pretty unbearable the other season when they won, so will have another season of that if they do win! I don't really have a problem with Rodgers, and they do play some entertaining football, but I really can't stand Suarez's antics. It isn't just the diving but it's also the way he appeals for everything, even when it's obviously not in his favour.... and when he doesn't get the decision, he goes crazy and so hard done by! He's such a talent but no other player acts like such a victim when he doesn't get every decision (plus there's also the biting, the handballs, etc...) At least it's an entertaining and intriguing end to the season... both ends of the table!
Can't say I'm rooting for any of the big clubs. I lived just off the Holloway Road for a bit, watched at Old Trafford in the early 60s, got attacked by hooligans at Stamford Bridge and quite like Martinez...but if West Brom (my first team in the mid 50s) can't win the PL, I really don't care about the rest!
Luton Town have made a similar application as Hull City's to the Football League to change their name they wish to be known as Al-Hatr. Also in scum related news. 3CR are reporting "Fans of the newly promoted Luton Town have burned down the last four remaining Christian places of worship in the town. They are also calling for all visiting fans to be subjected to sharia law".
Cardiff should accept the fact that they are not good enough, or should they? http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/27062091
