No complaints about the result to be honest, thought Liverpool wanted it more than us and probably shaded it. Pity the ref will be the talking point rather than what was a fantastic advert for the premier league,2 teams going at it hammer and tongs not a bus parked anywhere.
Was great advert for PL football and the way it should be played. Both defences were a bit dodgy but still. We got a couple of bit of luck with Suarez not getting a 2nd yellow and the handball from Skrtel but should have been 3-0 up at HT which probably would have killed you guys off. Title is still very much a 3 horse race though, just hoping there aren't any twists and turns this year
The point I was making is if, Enrique was fit and flanno played RB who's to say he wouldn't have cleared it, to say we didn't concede because Johnson cleared and that makes him worth his place is nonsense.
If if if.. If Enrique was playing who's to say he wouldn't have brought down a player as last man, given away a penalty and put us down to 10 men for 85 minutes? Johnson was worth his place because he didn't do anything wrong. People just see him as a easy player to take a swipe at at the moment because of his poor form earlier in the season, in the same way Allen has been.
Or you could look at what I said (the whole comment) and take it for what is. Johnsons been **** this season but the last few games hes been a lot better and today he played well. I dont go along with scapegoats and bandwagon bull****. I judge players on ninety minutes with my own eyes. And for the record, not one of our other FBs would win that header, same as no one else scores Sterlings goal. Its about the player in question though, not who it cpuld have been!
With all the bickering and complaining anyone would like we'd lost rather than beat a direct rival to put us in pole position with four games to go! We're gonna win the league, we're gonna win the league...
Seriously??? Whats the ****ing point! Johnson is the best option we have now and there is ****all you, I or Brod can do to change things. We've just beat Man City to make us clear favourites for the league with four games to go. If you can't enjoy times like this I suggest you find a different sport!
I agree. Palace away will be a tough game, I think. Chelsea, on paper, are a tough proposition, but we're at fortress Anfield and they looked absolutely toothless against Swansea - who were very unlucky despite playing the majority of the game with 10 men! One game at a time, lads, one game at a time!
I think Chelsea will be a harder game. Man City have superb players but like us, they play attacking football and leave gaps. Chelsea are the most organised side in the league and it will be harder to break them down. Hopefully, we beat Norwich meaning they need to beat us and are forced to open up. Least they have a CL game either side of our fixture
palace will be safe by then... newcastle are on hols already... both therefore are more likely bananna skins than norwich. everyone knows next week norwich will be desperate and will give everything. lfc need to match it and suarez needs to repeat his hoodoo over these guys. As for me? johnson did ok. the second wasa choice of who to mark and he followed the ball but he did fine otherwise. i've no issue. all players did ok.... city are brilliant but they didn't come until the second half... they knew what we'd do.... silva came alive when they found the space and drove us back. we got lucky
Strangely enough I watched the whole game with my own eyes and I wasn't impressed with him....but that's just my opinion. Didn't say you have to agree or that you had to get arsey either. As for saying no other RB would have made that clearance, not sure how you come to that conclusion . It's an area I would like to see improved but that ,again, is just my opinion
Firstly, apologies if I sounded arsey. Just pissed me off that we'd won such an important game yet people were complaining still. I meant any FB we currently have. All the others would have been out muscled for that header. However, as I said, its about appreciating the player on the pitch rather than what it could have been. The only player I thought had a poor game today was Studge but I thonk he was trying too hard. I'm not including Moses in that since he only got a few minutes.
Apology accepted. Johnson just frustrates me because he has all the attributes to awesome. He's bigger than he looks but gets outmuscled quite a bit ( compare that to sterling) and I think that's a lot to do with desire. He seems to have lost that attacking threat that he always carries. If he scores the goal that wins us the league I'll forgive him. Yeah Sturridge looks a bit frustrated to me and looks like he's lost some confidence. In saying that his decision making in the last few games has been poor.
Nice to see everyone so happy, upbeat and together after a thoroughly deserved win. We had some luck, but to say we "got lucky" suggests that we were lucky to win. We weren't.
And who gives a **** if we were lucky, we certainly get any luck at the etihad or the bridge. Different results there and we might already be celebrating the title ( well nearly)
