Pace, desire, tactics, a competent manager, strikeforce, no European football...all combimed make Liverpool a better team than Arsenal right now.
Yes everyone was discussing Rodgers which is why I chimed in with there being another key difference in Suarez.
So basically what I said plus pace and the manager which had already been mentioned. As far as pace is concerned with ozil, Walcott, oxocube, podolski all having long stints out injured, as well as wilshere and Ramsey we have been devoid of pace. But with a fully fit squad we do have quite a few pacey players. Plus if we had signed Suarez that would have been a load more pace instead of giroud
If your talking about the pace of the passing then we have scored the best team goals with quick one touch passing in the league this season.
And that's a whole load of other things compared to what you said. For a start... Liverpool have some tactics. Granted, they're not particularly great defensive tactics when required but they're 10 times better tactically than we are... Simply because they HAVE some tactics.
When Liverpool predictably take an early lead I don't think Chelsea have the ability to come back like city did
Arsenal didn't sign Suarez, so chiming on about him is a mute point. Arsenal considered Messi and almost signed Ronaldo and Ibrahimovic. IF they'd signed those players they probably would have won more titles, but they didn't, so it's worthless saying if. What you said skipped over was the obvious DESIRE that was there from the players today. When was the last time an Arsenal player stepped up when the team was losing and took the game in the way Silva did for Man City today? Yes they lost, but he dragged them back into it. Rogers has brought so much to Liverpool. Anyone who thinks Wenger should stay should go back and watch that game again, realise the difference that a good manager can make to a team, and ask "when was the last time Wenger motivated Arsenal to play like that against a top team?"
People where discussing the manager (tactics is part of this) so I thought it was worth bringing in Suarez and no European football into the discussion. Other than those 3 things only pace has been mentioned which I why I replied with my though on the pace of the team.... Not entirely sure the meaning of your post lol
We've scores two great team goals this season, against rubbish teams. We need to pass forward, we need to have players who can get round a man, be comfortable wide, be competent at making quick runs, be quick running with a ball under control, be quick thinking with who to pass to (which requires players to be quick enough to get into position to create options). We don't really have any of that.
Pointing out that them having a world class striker and we don't is hardly a mute point when looking at the differences between the teams ability to compete is it. Stupid point about messi and ibrahimovic. Think you clearly missed the point I was making. The desire is an interesting point, Liverpool have seemed desperate to win it and definately showed a lt of desire, but then I've seen this team show lots of desire, you only need to look as far back as our last two seasons and the way we have finished them. It seems more an issue with us of keeping that desire and pressure as a constant, rather than having a blip.
Anyway... If you honestly think there isn't much difference between Liverpool and us then there's no further discussion required.
It's still an open 3 horse race. Chelsea and city need liverpool to drop a single point to have the opportunity to win and pool still play Chelsea. Could go any way at the moment.
this would be a valid point if WE didnt have the EPL top scorer ( van Judas ) and still achieve F@CK ALL till he got pi$sed of and left us.
City played no European games for a while now. With their squad are we to believe that those extra few games gave Liverpool a huge advantage? Truth is no one expected us to be even remotely this good. Now everyone is explaining it in one sentence? Was it playing less games that done city tactically in the first half, and in the 2nd, when city came back was it also playing no cl that changed things again ending up with 3 points. The vast amount of preparation that goes into everything and people just say ah it's this, or that that accounts for their winning. if it is Suarez then it is Henry and the club, they kept him, and kept him happy too it seems and it is the squad that gives him so much service. if it is pace, then it is pace passing movement and pressing tracking back ect ect If it is Rodgers then it is all of the work that goes in every week and the direction he want to go, he's only learning too. if it is less euro games, then it is only an advantage over other teams playing euro games
