So, with all of this talk about wanting Alan Pardew gone from most (but not all) of the posters on here I wondered who people would like to see in charge next season. I have included those linked who have the shortest odds rather than just going for the top managers so that we can be realistic. I have also included Pardew in the Poll as some people still voted that they would want to keep him.

Its all very well agreeing about wanting someone out - I wonder if there will be as much agreement about wanting someone in ?

Edit: I'm no good with odds so just took the info from here:

Personally, I am more certain of the names on there I don't want rather than which one I do. I'd argue that a good number would not be a step up from Pardew.

    He's at the wrong club.
    Always rated him.

Horrible footy though. I could see him getting about 3 games from our support. This is my major concern, it needs to be a good fit with the fans. Sounds crazy with the money at stake etc but if you don't have our support on side, its only a matter of time.

I'm not sure we'd be the right club for him though. He's a very cautious and defensive manager. he also used to get the criticism of playing people out of position all the time on the 606 phone in from Everton (and now Man Utd) fans. Isn't that one of the issues with Pardew?

I went for McLaren as I think that he's underrated, though a strange person. But the person whom I did want and isn't on that list is Steve Bruce.

Not only do I rate Bruce as a manager but I think that he would stand up to the board.

Aye, I was thinking about Steve 'Mackem Slayer' as well. Don't think he could be any worse than any of the other lot.

Of course he is, at the moment, a manager of another Premier League club.

Rosler for me. Doubt he'd come if Wigan get promotion though.

Also doubt that Whelan would let him come to us given his feelings toward Ashley.

Bruce would do exactly what Ashley wants, he works for a loony tune owner and has come out supporting him every time, good manager but still a yes man.

I wouldn't fancy Bruce at all as manager. I think we need someone who is going to deliver modern attacking football.

Whoever comes in, no matter who they are, will do exactly as Ashley wants as they will know that is a condition of staying in the job.

Aye but he is likely to huff off the first time he doesn't get his own way. A recipe for disaster under Ashley <laugh>

If Ashley does sack Pardew he might really piss us off and bring in Dennis Wise.
