Stoffel Vandoorne's just taken an easy win on debut in GP2. Nice to see someone of real quality in the series for the first time in a few years. He should get stronger and stronger as the season goes on and he gets more experience. Leal was second, passing Palmer late on. Pic had an impressive debut too after moving over from FR3.5, finishing fifth. Vandoorne's team mate Izawa was also very good, finishing 6th after starting 23rd.
He's a complete joke. Every time I watch he's in some sort of incident. I think it was Hungary last year when he was lapped and the two leaders were fighting and he decides to just try overtake them and wipes one of them out!
Happened to catch a bit of GP2 while I was at work and was amazed by how much I miss the older engine noise in F1. I thought I was ok with it but I got tingles when I listened to the GP2 cars. Ah well, not much to be done about it I suppose.

Vandoorne lost his front wing early in the sprint race and finished near the back . Palmer won the race and leads by ten points from Leal and Vandoorne. Next race is at the Spanish grand prix in a month's time. The first GP3 race is at the same event, looking forward to seeing how Kirchhofer does, very highly rated.
WSR season's about to start at Monza, it should be live on Eurosport. Sainz Jr's on pole, big season for him, Red Bull have put him in with DAMS where Magnussen won the championship last year. Buller's second, followed by Ghiotto and Stevens. Roberto Merhi's fifth, I'm looking forward to seeing how he gets on, he looked a class act in F3 a few years ago but has really struggled in DTM for the last couple of years. Sirotkin had a nightmare, qualifying 18th. Beitske Visser was last and miles off the pace, looks like another token female inclusion.

Race 2 about to start: http://gofirstrow.eu/watch/253880/1/watch-renault-world-series-:-monza,-italy---race-2.html Sainz starts on pole again after destroying the field in second qualifying.
I think this may be the first time in a few years where I feel that the GP2 grid is actually stronger than the WSBR one. Although neither are paritcularly standout really.
Dominant win for Sainz, 11 seconds clear of Stockinger. Sirotkin scored a podium. Gasly finished fifth and will be level on points with Sainz and Stevens, who retired. Looks like Sainz is going to dominate, he'd be over 25 points clear already if his car hadn't stopped on the grid yesterday. Next race is in Aragon in two weeks.
Yeah I agree. I think a lot of the WSR guys are relatively unknown though, Pierre Gasly for example, he's only 18 and he's joint leading the championship, he won FR2.0 last year, the two previous winners were Vandoorne and Frijns who didn't really establish themselves until they raced in FR3.5. Luca Ghiotto's looked pretty good as well. Stevens is a good benchmark so if some of these youngsters are able to beat him it bodes well for them. Sirotkin's another one to watch, he's still too erratic for F1 but he's only 18. Ghiotto and Sainz are both still 19. The GP2 guys are a bit older and better known, a lot of them have been in the series for a few years now.
Yeah not a very strong grid for the world series this year but Sainz must be tasting F1 if he wins this series, GP2 with Vandoorne, Evans, Abt, Nasr, A.Pic, Marciello has probably been their strongest grid...... well ever!
